I used the docking station to charge my HTC Rhyme last night and when I woke up this morning it was very overheated and hot to the touch. it really didn't cool down. I am now trying to charge it with the regular plug in wall charger and it is still heating up, even with the phone turned completely off. I have had this phone for about a year now, since I am not due to upgrade until February 2014, and this is my second phone. I had to get a replacement 2 months after having it, because the screen was going dark on the whole right side and then back in September I had to go to the verizon store because it wouldn't turn on at all. They did a hard reset and it worked. I tried to update the software last week and got an error message and a screen with a red triangle with an exclaimation point in it that wouldn't go away until I did a hard reset again. I really like this phone, but don't like all the issues that I am currently having with it, especially since I am pretty sure it is now no longer under warrenty since I am up for renewal in less than a year.
Please help!!
Good morning mialyse!
I am sorry to learn that you are having some technical issues with your phone and it gets hot when you charge it. Since you have already done a hard reset http://vz.to/xCo3Hk I recommend bringing the phone to a Verizon Wireless store http://vzw.com/StoreLocator for a hands on evaluation for one of our representatives to determine if the temperature falls within normal parameters while charging. Our representatives can then explore replacement options with you if your phone needs to be replaced.
