Save files in SD Card / Media / Audio... Ringtones... Notifications ... Alarms (Place in folder you want to use it for) and then set by following instruction below...

Settings / Sounds / Ringtones
Default Notification
Under Settings / Sounds / Notification or Menu > Personalize > Scroll down to Personal Sound Settings > Notification Sound > Default Notification
gMail:
Open gMail > Left menu button > more > Settings > Scroll to notification area at bottom of list...... All these options works for gMail
Email:
Menu > Personalize > Scroll down to Personal Sound Settings > Notification Sound > Email........ All these control all email accounts.
Text Messages
Menu > Personalize > Scroll down to Personal Sound Settings > Notification Sound > Message........ All these control alll SMS and MMS accounts
