the LTE extender manual states that users accessing my extender can be limited in three categories: open (free to all within signal), closed (limited to mobile numbers I select), hybrid ( selected numbers first priority then open to others as capacity allowed).
How/where do I access this function? The manual says go to MyVerizon, that is a dead end.

Hello, TBarguy, I'm sorry for the inconvenience while trying to add numbers to your white list. We have reached out to the manufacturer for additional insight on this issue and we have been able to confirm that the information that we provided earlier is correct. The previous Network Extender model did support this feature, however, the new model does not. We have requested that the literature be updated to reflect the features for the current Network Extender model.

The LTE Extender needs to be added to your account properly to be able to manage it. Also, you cannot see it using the My Verizon mobile app or mobile website. You have to log in to your My Verizon account using a desktop or laptop browser and you should see it under ACCOUNT->DEVICES. If it is not there, it hasn't been added properly to your account for access. When you are able to see/manage it, you will find that the Closed access may not work properly as identified/discussed in many threads on this Forum.

Thanks jav6. I have previously located my LTE extender on the desktop version of myVerizon , but there are no buttons to access any management controls. You are correct the app version does not display the extender. I know it is on my account, I have seen it there in my local V store. I have located my extender on Askey network by IP number where all the details of the extender operations are displayed, but find no access to open, closed, hybrid management, except a reference that it can be done and a referral to myVerzion. When I learned Fortran programming in engineering school right after TRex died we called that a perpetual do loop. With all of your experience in chasing this, have you encountered any tech support at Verizon that can assist?

There has been little to zero technical support in getting this web site management of Closed Access mode/access list solved for the LTE Network Extenders. It's hit or miss in even getting a support agent knowledgeable enough on the extenders to offer assistance.

To jav6, you asked if I had a response, but I do not see your note to reply to. (New to this community). I sent a PM to customer support on April 30, nothing but crickets singing since then. I am really disappointed with the lack of customer support on this topic. I have been lout of pocket “ for the past week, but will get back to this.

I can certainly understand the need to manage the connections to your network extender, TBarguy, and I apologize for the delay in our reply. Jav6 is definitely on the right track, but let me help push us over the finish line. You can learn how to manage connectivity on your extender by following these steps: https://www.verizon.com/support/knowledge-base-231937/
Let us know if that helps.

Thank you Joesph for your detailed response/reference. I followed the instructions on a desk top version of MyVersion (not the mobile app), navigated to Device Overview and received the message “Your request could not be processed at this time. Please try again later”. I did this several times, then called *611. After an aggravating navigation of the auto no helper, I talked to a real customer representative, explained that I wanted to manage my LTE Extender users. He understood, confirmed my LTE connection on my account, but could help me access for me. He called on technical reinforcements, and I talked to a person who said she could add those telephone numbers to my LTE management and close the system. Great! But then she could not save the entries and sought more help. The final answer is the “old” 3G LTE Extender was set up to be programmed. The newer 4G model has not been set up for user management. I pointed out that the manuals on line do not clearly make that distinction and therefore there is much confusion in the Extender community chat forum.

You may need to have an agent escalate to a next-level support agent familiar with LTE Network Extenders. Even then getting the extender into the mode you want with a manageable subscriber group via the web site is a long shot. Good Luck!

I have chatted with 3 people in online support chat for over 90 minutes and 11, yes 11 people live for over 8 hours trying to make this happen. Several have said this should be easy for them to add it to My Devices, but it is not showing up. The last person I spoke with stated it was not possible, when the others have said it is most certainly could be.
My next step is an executive escalation.

We want to help you with getting this set up. First follow these instructions to set up access, going with hybrid or closed: https://www.verizon.com/support/knowledge-base-231937/
Once that is done, use these instructions to add a contact: https://www.verizon.com/support/knowledge-base-231966/ ~Peter

I just activated my Network Extender. In a townhouse cluster where I usually had 0-1 bar, I now have 4 bars throughout my entire unit and extending to several other units within 100! Wonderful improvement in my service and I am very happy. But since my strong signal clearly extends to at least 2-3 other units (and into the garage area & alley!!), I would like to create the limited access feature. HOWEVER, following instructions in the last post above, I do find my Extender in MyVerizon, Devices. BUT, when I click Details and see the list of features, under Access it says "Open" and there is NO "EDIT" BUTTON (or any other button) to the right where the preceding instructions say it should be. Is this because my activation is only a few hours old? I will try this again daily for awhile. I don't necessarily want to make my Extender exclusive to my list and plan to use the Hybrid mode IF I CAN FIGURE OUT HOW TO ACCESS IT!! Any comment greatly appreciated.

Just to follow up my own post: Yes, the missing "Edit" button appeared about 24 hrs later and I was able to put my extender on "Hybrid" mode and add our family numbers to the preferred access list.
It says that Hybrid mode gives your listed number "priority", but that is not further explained. Can't imagine it would happen, but if multiple non listed callers are taking up all the channels on your extender, and a listed number phone wants to make a call, what happens? Do non priority numbers get bumped back to the local cell tower (which has a very weak signal at our location)? Just curious. I doubt it will happen.

Thank you Peter for the detailed instructions on setting up a hybrid mode. My apologies for not responding sooner - family illness. The instructions state to add Verizon numbers, will It also accept Spectrum numbers that are operating on the Verizon circuits?

Thank you for your question. The number must be registered to Verizon, not another carrier.

According to the LTE extender manual, there are three categories for limiting users accessing the extender: open, closed, and hybrid. Open: In this category, the extender is accessible to all users within its signal range without any restrictions. Anyone can connect to the extender and use its services. Closed: This category allows you to limit access to specific mobile numbers that you select. Only those numbers will be able to connect to the extender and use its services. Other users will not be able to access it. Hybrid: In this category, selected numbers have priority access to the extender, while others can still connect if there is available capacity. The selected numbers will have preferential treatment, ensuring they can access the extender even during high demand periods. It’s important to consult the LTE extender manual for specific instructions on how to configure and manage these access categories.

Where in the manual does it give specific instructions on how to configure and manage the access categories?
What manual are you referring to?

Try this location in the instructions for entering telephone numbers: https://www.verizon.com/support/knowledge-base-231937/
but, remember the telephone numbers must be Verizon account numbers, you cannot enter a Spectrum number even though their operation is on the Verizon circuits.

I just tried those instructions, AGAIN. My extenders DO NOT show up under My Devices->Device Overview. They haven't shown up (as others have posted) for over a month. Does your extender show up there for you?

For the question of where is "my Devices": Early this year when I started posting, I did find "my Devices" on the desk top version of verizon.com NOT My Verizon, there is a difference, and it is hard to get to once your computers have found My Verizon and entered the id/password. Tonight, I was successful in returning and I could not find MY Devices, so I did a search on the website of different variations of LTE devices. I found one instruction that said it could be managed which appears to be the information I found earlier.
Then I found this statement: Can I manage and limit access to the 4G LTE Network Extender for Enterprise to a select set of mobile devices? Answer: No, the 4G LTE Network Extender for Enterprise only supports open mode.
Community, I officially give up. I have worked this for months and got to a point where I where I thought I could do it and then I found out I could not enter my wife's Spectrum number even though it is on the Verizon circuits. So, I quit.
It appears to me that Verizon has eliminated the possibility of setting up the management of Open/Closed/Hybrid. Calling Verizon and talking to a representative is a total waste of your time, take that advice from a retiree how has the Antenna/EE knowledge and time to sit and wait for the right person to talk to the people who do not know anything about this "niche" applications. Furthermore, the information on the Verizon website is out of date, not maintained with their current devices or policies, is contradictory and confusing. Our group of LTE users is too small to really care about.
I am fortunate that only my neighbor household of two (sometimes 4) on Verizon circuits seem to have access to my extender and so far, it has not caused a problem. My other neighbor has their own LTE extender. If it does cause a problem, I am going to visit and ask them to buy their own LTE extender. In the meantime, I hope that the real solution is that Verizon recognizes they have a coverage problem for my neighborhood and does something about it. Parts of my neighborhood have ZERO bars and I have walked thru the hood to prove it.
It is disgusting that Verizon sells a product that does not perform as advertised and they do NOTHING about it.
Tbarguy STOP. Please pardon my rant.

Well, the Network Extenders are now showing up under Account->My Devices->Device Overview with the Manage button. It doesn't work though when you try to change the Access Mode and there are still other glitches with the web site regarding Devices and Network Extenders. It appears to be a 'work in progress' that someone is trying to figure out.
