My 5G home internet service floats between Salt Lack City UT and Boise, ID

It amazing, I am on the 5G Home internet page and under the Sub-topic there is no reference to 5G home internet.  This is par for the time wasted with Verizon's customer service. Here is my problem, my location floats from Salt Lake City, Utah and Boise, Idaho. I did not think this was going to be a big issue, but it is. My streaming TV subscriptions floats as well. All my programming changes and my TV will sometimes error.  For instance Wheel of Fortune has apparently been outlawed in Salt Lake City. I guess you can't make a fortune on a wheel in Utah, but here in Idaho we can.  That a one issue. All the local news I receive is Salt Lake City's news.  For instance, during our last big storm that hit the Treasure Valley here in Idaho I was unable to get my local news or weather.  I am experiencing 70% of my connection in Salt Lake City and 30% in my real location. One Verizon tech told me I needed a static IP address. This tech was the first one after hours to admit there was a problem. I thought I had a real solution, that when I got transferred again. The next tech was not helpful and treated me poorly. Note, I saw the tough luck statement by one Verizon tech, but I believe there is a real answer to correct this. Please HELP!

SIRJC, thank you for taking your time to share your experience with TV Streaming in different markets (Salt Lake City and Boise).  This can be a challenge. Fixed Wireless Access (FWA) are assigned IP addresses that do not necessarily align with local TV markets and the customer's IP may result in a different location than the actual home service area. Which TV Streaming app do you use?  We would be glad to provide guidance on updating your location.

I’m having the same location issue. I can’t get local news on my YouTube TV service now. It was working fine until today. How do I correct the location so my streaming service will work again?

I've seen a few threads about this; not sure if there is a solution other than switching ISPs.  The problem is, your internet gateway doesn't have a fixed IP address because it's using a wireless network, which is routing the data requests to whatever server happens to be available.  If the server is in a completely different location than your home address, it's going to mess up your TV streams because the data feed coming in from the network is from out of state.  Even if you can set the streaming app to your location, because the source data coming in is from out of state, the out of state location won't have your local news as an example.

It's not just an issue with streaming.  Utah has outlawed certain content, Idaho has not but we can't access the content regardless of streaming app if our internet connection is coming out of Utah. I'm looking at switching services as this has been an issue for years and you guys refuse to resolve it.

There needs to be a fix for this. I'm in Columbus, OH and my external IP identifies me as living in Cleveland. Although some of my services allow me to identify my locality (Hulu for one), some do not give me that option. And, I'm then stuck in the Cleveland market, except that's not my market. I moved from ATT fiber for this and I'm regretting the decision.
