There is a revision, IMG 1.9.1, due out "soon" - but it is anybody's guess right now what such a patch might address. Regarding the HDMI issue, anybody who has followed my postings knows that I frequently rant against it as a standard, yet it is what we are stuck with - frustratingly. HDMI issues are industry wide in all makes of TV (Samsungs are notorious) and all STBs and all providers. A couple of years ago prior to IMG 1.8, many with VZ had problems and the simple solution was to revert to component plus audio cables. Inelegant, yes, but still 1080i. It saved a lot of reboots. IMG 1.8 fixed most of the problems, but IMG 1.9 seems to have readmitted some. You may want to try the components just for grins (you say your HDMI is new, and I assume it is "high-speed"?). I don't know if amplified HDMI would help in your case - again it would be an experiment. Good luck.

I would try the component but it's the principle of the matter. I don't want to use the analog anymore. But yes the cables are high speed. I think you would have to try and find a cable that isn't anymore. I have the STB directly connected to my Sony Bravia. The thing that bugs me the most about it is that it worked great for about 3 months and then it started cutting out again. The amplified idea sounds interesting but the results can be just as easliy duplicated by using a shorter hdmi cable. I have and it doesn't make a difference. I even have the problem with the supplied cable from fios. I'll keep my fingers crossed on the 1.9.1 being the solution. If I run the optical cable and keep my non hdmi reciever on then atleast I can still here what's going on until th image returns.

I understand completely. It sounds like your kit is similar to mine, a non-HDMI receiver and the STB hooked directly via HDMI to a Sony Bravia. A couple years back when we were having the HDMI problems, most people experinced loss of signal and a message on the screen that said "channel unavailable". The reboot worked for a few days, then rinse and repeat. Frustrating. My habit became to reboot once a week in the morning while I made the coffee. It is galling, to be sure, to have to revert to components, but I tired of it all and did so. I hope the software patch will fix things. Good luck.
