Deleting a 11k message

Question

I have been trying to delete a message thread of 11k messages. Each time i delete it, it says "deleting..." for over thiry minutes now. I've tried using Chomp, SMS Quick Delete, Headcent, Delete Old Messages, and SMS Cleaner Free. They all do not work, even with my 12 threaded message. When i get a message from this particular person with the 11k thread, it is so slow and freezes. I deleted message individually and the message app times out and turns off. I know with how long the thread is the reason for the delays, i need help to get rid of this 11k messaging thread. Any suggestions??

Let's work towards getting those messages erased, mzmihw. Since this message thread consists of over eleven thousand messages, deleting the entire thread at once will take time. You mentioned trying to delete messages individually. When doing this are you selecting small groups of messages within the thread? If not, please attempt deleting a few messages at a time and let us know if this works. Additionally, a master reset would erase all the content of the phone, including the message thread, but if you backup your messages they would restore.
