Email update stuck on manual

Phone has been working fine for months and somehow got it switched to update email manually. I went into the email settings and can't change it where it is greyed out. I cleared cache and storage, reset up and still no luck. Is there a master setting I am missing?

Lets get your email updating automatically again! What make/model phone do you have? If you try removing the email account and adding it back that may just resolve this issue!

It is the LG g2, it b is he Verizon version. I removed my accounts and that did not work.
