How do I set different sounds for text notifications?

Hi,

Does anyone know how to set different text notifications? Currently the only way is to set the notification sound for ALL text messages which is not what I am looking to do. Want to be able to set different text notifications for different contacts.

Verizon stock texting app, out of the box, no, you can't do this.  Third party apps will allow this, but you need to try them out and see which one(s) you like. YMMV.

Go to contacts.  Select the contact and select the pencil at the top right of screen.  You can set ringtone and LED color for that contact.  This is for stock texting app.
