How do I sign out of my Gmail?

I just bought my first smartphone and I got a LG G2. When they signed me up the help me get into my gmail. I am not able to figure out how to log out of my gmail. Can someone please educate me on this topic? Thanks!

Your Gmail account is tied to the phone for the Play Store, calendar, contacts and email access. You don't sign out the Gmail account on the phone.
