I really like my new phone but I am having several issues, which are listed below.
- Every once in a while, while doing something the phone will freeze on me. When the phone unfreezes, all of the folders on the home screen are empty. The shortcuts that I put in them are gone. The programs are not uninstalled; just the short cuts within the folders removed.
- I am having major issues with the GPS. It has a hard time locating my location. It shows me blocks if not miles away. This happens with both the wifi turned on and turned off. This is also happening on my friend’s Thunderbolt. I have to do a battery pull to correct the issue.
- When ending a phone call, I have to hit the end button twice before the call ends. Sometimes the phone freezes when ending a call as well.
- The phone has a hard time when it switches in and out of 3g/4g/wifi.
- 2-3 random restarts daily without even touching the phone. Could be on the charger, on the desk. It will also randomly restart while using it.
- The autocorrect does not change i to I. Also does not always recognize the username & password fields and will auto correct. I have to go into settings and turn off the autocorrect.
- When I disconnect the phone from my computer it will not charge (nor indicate that it is charging) when hooked up to a wall charger until I do a battery pull.
- When sliding up the unlock screen the phone will freeze for a minute or so.
Please help.

- Visual Voice Mail - I totally forgot to mention the most annoying issue of them all. The Visual Voicemail does not remember my password/code. It is always prompting to input my information.

Sorry but can't help you, only to say Verizon will just tell you to do a factory reset on phone as they don't even know what to do and don't listen to the real problems and can't even have a forum for the Revolution. Good luck because the phone is new and they don't know all about the problems yet.

Are you using the Visual Voice Mail application or are you dialing *86 (or pressing and holding #1) to get to your voice mail? I ask since what you describe is not showing to be a known issue with the device.
Please press the Visual Voice mail application and see if you are able to listen that way. If you are prompted to enter your information, please provide us with the details of what you see on your screen or hear on the call.
Thank you very much!

As noted above. It is when I am using the Visual Voice Mail app that was pre loaded on the phone. I am not dialing *86.

Hi Everyone, I have had the revolution since it first dropped last year and am now on my third one for all the same reasons freezing, screen blackouts, no mobile hotspot etc.Guess what I got told every time I called about the problems I was having?? You guessed it "AN isolated issue only pertaining to my phone"!!!!! I just recieved the 3rd phone yesterday and imagine that same issues I called them this morning and guess what I got as a response from the level two tech? Its a level three tech problem ha ha ha I'm dying laughing at this point!!!! He tells me the problems are fixed and they dont know why I'm still experiencing these same issues but I'll have to wait between 1 hour and 5 days to get a response from thech 3 on the issue. I called them back up tonight because I'm at my wits end with these phones and all of the sudden they are going to send me a new phone the old thunderbolt. all I can say is I am so glad to be away from this LG revolution and I will never buy LG again. BTW CHARGING PROBLEM guy if you plug it in and lay the phone flat with a slight angle to the left it will charge its the charge port it wears out very fast on these phones.

I am on my second and I just stop calling customer service because they kept saying same thing repeatedly! Reset the phone, or take the battery out.

I regret to hear you are having these problems with your LG Revolution.I do want to ask a few questions in order to provide you will the best solution for your specific concerns.
- Do you happen to notice if you are any particular feature/function of the phone when it is freezing?
- Do you get any error messages (Force Close)?
- What GPS are you using? Is it VZ Navigator, GoogleMaps or a different 3rd party application?
- Are you primarily using the Verizon network or WiFi when the device is randomly rebooting?
- When you are charging via USB cable & wall charging are you making sure you go to Settings>Connectivity>Default Connection Mode (change it accordingly)
- Go to Settings>Language & Keyboard>User Dictionary (add I to the list of words) at least until I can advise LG that it isn't working. Perhaps this can be resolved in a future update of the software.

- Do you happen to notice if you are any particular feature/function of the phone when it is freezing? - no
- Do you get any error messages (Force Close)? - with facebook and cnet tv.
- What GPS are you using? Is it VZ Navigator, GoogleMaps or a different 3rd party application? - google maps, but also notice this happens with places in FB and foursquare.
- Are you primarily using the Verizon network or WiFi when the device is randomly rebooting? - this happens on 3g/4g/wifi
- When you are charging via USB cable & wall charging are you making sure you go to Settings>Connectivity>Default Connection Mode (change it accordingly) - it only happens when I disconnect from the USB charging from the computer.
- Go to Settings>Language & Keyboard>User Dictionary (add I to the list of words) at least until I can advise LG that it isn't working. Perhaps this can be resolved in a future update of the software. - I have already done this and it still does not auto correct.

Hi Fastfalling:
Thanks for getting back to us on the questions we asked you. It sounds like you are having numerous issues. I'd like to stray away from the whole master reset thing if we could before we determine that one is necessary. I searched through every issue I could find on the phone, and none are reported that you are mentioning (not to say that they don't exist though) aside from some general freezing.
There's one important question that we need clarified as well: Did the problems develop over time since you received the phone, or did they slowly progress towards worse over time. The reason I need this question clarified, is if these issues are happening out of the box, they could be product issues that need escalated to the manufacturer so a software patch can be developed. If they happened after several applications were downloaded/set up on the phone, it could be fixed with a master reset.
Please let me know. Also, if you've taken any additional steps between our clarification postings, please update us (for example, removing and redownloading apps, master resets, clearing cache, etc.).

They started right from the get go. I believe I have already tried a master reset once. But didn't help. I have also cleared the cache, uninstalled and reinstalled apps, all to no avail.

Ok. I would suggest exchanging the handset. It sounds like it's defective. Please PM me with your number if these issues persist, and I will get back with you as soon as possible. You can also call the warranty number pre-stored in your contacts at (866) 406-5154. If you're within the first 14 days of purchasing the phone, you can exchange it at the store you purchased it. If ordered from online or through our telesales department, we can exchange it through our customer service department.
Let me know if you have any other questions.

Mike,
I've had the Revolution since it came out last May and I'm on my third one. Less than 2 weeks in the phone wouldn't boot up. I exchanged it for another one. Then over the course of the past few months I've experienced ALL of the problems described above and below in this subject. Forced closes, phone reboots (periodically shuts down) when I am in the middle of a task, slow/sluggish performance when multi tasking or even just bringing up the phone app to dial a number. Also, sometimes a call comes in and the screen stays on whatever I'm working on. I hear the phone ringing but there is no prompt to answer the call and it's not until the call is missed that I can see who's call i missed!!! Last month I exchanged the phone for another one because of these problems at your Nanuet NY store. The SAME problems persist. I've done hard resets, cleared app caches, uninstalled and reinstalled apps. You name it. I'm not one to complain but I've been a long time customer and use this phone for business 75% of the time. I'm and totally disatisfied with it. I'd like to transfer into another Android phone if I may. What would you recommend?

**bleep** your phone does the same as mine. I am waiting for the IPhone 5 only if it has a 4" screen as rumor has it, cant go smaller because I am used to having 4.3" now. My friend has IPhone and the battery is still good after 3 years old and he cant believe how many times in a day I charge my Revo

I should have read up on this phone before buying it since it is cleary defective. All the issues mentioned have happened to me. The most annoying being losing internet connection and the random restarts. I wonder if I can switch to another phone altogether? Btw I just went through a software update which seemed to make matters worse.

Ires,
Once you did the LG Revolution update did you also perform a factory reset ?
As you know, software updates are made to enhance the device, oftentimes after a software updated, you will need to do a factory reset.
I honestly would recommend it. Once it has been done, try it out for a few days or so to see if it behaves in the same manner.
Are you losing all connection to data or is it fluctuating between 3G & 4G?
How long has it been since you purchased the Revolution? If it more than 14 days, then you wouldn't be able to exchange it for a different make/model.
Please let us know how it works after the factory reset.

"I have experienced some of the same issues he mentioned and these were out of the box. I've have my phone for three months and have always had freeze issues. I do not have additional apps installed. The biggest issue is freezing while texting and also text not being able to be sent. I remove the battery from my phone almost every other day because it locks up. This was a very, very expensive phone purchased with a new contract and you wouldn't expect this. Base don the many, many, many blogs I've seen there are no fixes. At this point I just want a phone that works. Customers should be warned not to buy the LG Revolution."
I have had the same issues as the person above^^^and every other person on this forum! I have also had my Revolution for 3 months and each time I bring it in for these issues, I am given a different excuse as to why I am experiencing these problems, and a quick fix (which never works)! I have had my phone "wiped"(didn't help), I have been told by Verizon Reps to do a battery pull once a week (didn't help), I was sent a new phone (still same issues), and the most recent...yesterday, when I brought it in for the charging issue, I was told by the Verizon Rep that I needed to turn the 4G off and only use the 3G so that my battery will last longer than 4 hours. Now tell me how a 100% charged battery can die in 4 hours when the phone was not used within those 4 hours??? Because of 4G??? Why pay the high price for a 4G phone if you can't even use it!!! This is INSANE!!! I have never paid this much for a phone and I have never had this many problems with a phone!! My husband has an old phone "The Razzle" (now that is OLD)! He has had it for 2 years, has never had a problem with it, and is afraid to upgrade because of the problems that my children and I experience with our "NEW $200 SMART PHONES"!!

Everyone here feels your pain! Verizon will never acknowledge the problem because they would then be forced to actually do something about it. There is more money to be made by continually pushing a broken device on unsuspecting consumers. The LG Revolution is a broken and defective handset. Verizon knows this and refuses to act honorably.
And honestly somebody tell these VZW employees posting on these forums that a factory reset is not a troubleshooting solution. I mean really, if it was not so offensive and infuriating it would almost be hilarious.

You are so right! I spoke to an employee at a mall kiosk and he said he has worked in Customer Service at VZW for five years. I offered to show him 12 pages I printed out from their site on the LG Revolution issues of locking up and shutting down and he wouldn't listen. Said he has never heard of it. I called customer service and asked to speake to a supervisor. Spoke to a woman in Phoenix and she said she has never heard of it either. I told both of them that if they would just search the internet they would find it because that is how I found the community complaints. They said all they can do is continue to send out replacement phone until my warranty is up, unless I purchase the insurance. Scam if I ever did see one! Verizon knew this phone is a piece of junk and they should not be selling it. My contract is with Verizon not LG and if Verizon would not sell the phone then LG would be forced to fix it! They all play dumb.
