Just updated my Rev, had to go to Verizon store and they had to do a total system reinstall. I lost all of my Apps and started to download them again. Cannot get the Amazon App Store back, I guess that is a bonus for Verizon. I wonder if the next time I have to update if the Android market will be gone?
Talked to VZ CS and all they told me to do is remove the battery and SIM card, "that always works"! Not this time. Starting to wonder if I should have switched to another carrier or got the I-phone. Dumb answer, I knew that the minute I turned on the Rev.

Thanks that worked. Now how do I get the Android Market to show me available apps? Since my update when I open the Android Market when I goto something like Top Free Game, it says "No Matching Content on Android Market" which is false, I know Angry Birds has to be one top pick for free games!

Yes, but that's not the point. An hour before I got the update everything worked fine. I could go to the Android Market and browse different apps through the Androind Market. Then I go to the Verizon store, they install the "update" to my phone and now I can only get apps from the Android Market that I know the name of. Does Verizon or LG even test the updates before they install them?

I mean the physical Verizon store at the mall. But I do mean the Vcast store will benifit from not allowing you to use the free Android Market or the free Amazon App store (online stores I mean).

Thank you for your help. In the Android Market place you can SEARCH for an app, but you can also BROWSE for apps or at least I could yesterday morning.
I know how to reinstall applications that I downloaded from the Android Market, that is not my problem. My problem is when I go to the Android Market to BROWSE (not do a search by the app title) for a NEW app that I have never downloaded before all the Arndroid Market says is "No matching content in the Android Market" when I look under let's say All Games, Top Paid section that is what it says.
I could be wrong, but I'm guessing there are more than zero games in the Top Paid section of the Android Market. In the three weeks that I've had this phone and before the Verizon update yesterday I've never seen this, that is until the girl at the Verizon store at the mall installed the software update by a complete factory reset on my phone.

I had the old version. Last night the new Android Market was added to my phone and everything seems to be working better. Still had some connection issues with the market, but I think that was just part of the switch. I'm not sure what the update did, but my phone seemss faster. It could be that I have 25% of the apps on it now than before the update too. The top message bar works now too. Works great with ADW launcher. WiFi working better now too automatically connects to my home network. Before I had to manually reconnect when ever the phone went to sleep. After findind ADW launcher, I'm liking the phone a lot more than I did.
Thanks for your help!

It will still disconnect wifi after a preset period. Before the update there was a setting for interval to disable wifi. Can't find it now...

That's it. Still shuts off, no wifi indicator at the top but wifi toggle shows on. I don't know what the interval is, but when the setting is "never" I would hope the programer is paying attention.... No biggy however.

I loved my Revolution till the update. Now it runs slow and the majority of the apps force close when I try to open them. The messaging almost never works the first time I try to open it. It randomly moves apps to the sd card. Anybody else having similar issues? Any idea when the next update is coming out to hopefully fix some of this?

Hi there and welcome to the community!
It may be an application and software compatibility issue. Since the Revolution has no safe mode, I recommend a Hard Reset to return the phone to factory settings and rid the device of any potential glitches. I have researched and found LG to be working on the next software update for the device, no word on what this patch will enhance.
Thank you for your patience and understanding!

So many problems and nobody wants to help. LG tells you the updates come from Verizon, get back on the phone and Verizon tells you they come from LG. What a run around and waste of time. Even Verizons website tells you there is an update http://support.verizonwireless.com/pdf/system_update/revolution.pdf but when you call Verizon they tell me I have the current software that is not this version. I think this is just a POS phone that niether one will admit too. Neither company seems to give a shit or wants to help. Verizon will send you a refurbished POS that will have the same problems till your out of warranty and then guess what they will tell you.........you guessed it, "were so sorry to hear your having problems". Or the good old do a "Factory reset" and waste another three hours of my life getting everyting back on the phone. And they have the nerve to tell me they havent heard of many problems.........HELLO, just GOOGLE it!!!!!!!!!

It comes from LG. Once they are finished with the code it is sent to Verizon for testing. If it doesn't pass the test Verizon sends it back to LG.
LG is just passing the buck because they know they'll get a free pass.
