I got a replacement LG G2 and the text messages aren't showing up on my new phone. I tried to restore from the cloud but nothing. Disabled and re-enabled the app too. Any ideas?

When you get a replacement phone, unless you used an SMS Backup app on the Play Store or if Verizon Messages+ saved them and they are synced, they are gone forever. The cloud does not back up your messages. Those messages are stored inside a protected partition of the phones "hard drive" and cannot be accessed in a normal fashion. So, when you change phones, you lose what was on that partition.

Then why does the cloud state I have 1700 backup text messages? And give me the choice to back them up?
Thanks!

Have you installed and logged into the Verizon Cloud on your phone and added it as an account? If so, it may take hours or days. Verizon's Cloud services are not the most reliable.
