Why can't I receive group texts?

I am having a difficulty receiving text messages when I send a message to a group. If I send out a group text and people respond , the message comes to me and displays as " no content" and shows a box with the word download in it. I try to download and it does nothing. If the same person responds to my group message by starting a new text, it comes through fine

Group messaging is one of the primary modes for sending out information, so I need this to work.

26A seems to be the last update, from Sept 2014.  Problem is is that Kenneth Maurice at VZW stated that there would be an update on Dec 20 this year, as in 3 days ago.  That update never came.

Only through my email.  He didn't broadcast his message to me via internet, so no link.

people sending me attachments or responding to a group message still wont come through. The same download message is received by me

Have you tried using the Verizon Messages app? My only issue with my G2 with the stock app is it not letting me see MMS sent nor let me send MMS. Of course I don't do group messaging so I wouldn't know if I have this issue or not.

I tried VZW messages myself a few time over the years, but was never able to make it sync with the desktop app.  That was why I started using MightyText.  But, point is, is that we shouldn't have to use 3rd party apps to do what stock should do normally.  Obviously, if you have tried a replacement G2, and have narrowed it down to the stock messenger being the only messaging app to work incorrectly for your group mms or sms, then trying a 3rd party app is all that you can do.
