Why won't my Yahoo email password update?

My Yahoo email account got hacked (shocker!) and I had to change my password, but nothing I do on my phone will get it to update. Thoughts?

What are you exactly doing on your device to get it updated? Use the Yahoo mail app.  Not stock.

Hi, thank you both for the suggestions. I figured out the problem - it was on the Yahoo side. It's resolved now!
