Wi-Fi stuck "turning on" but doesn't connect

Starting 3 days ago the Wi-Fi on my LG G2 will not turn on. I typically use the “shortcut” in the top menu but when I click the Wi-Fi icon it looks like it’s turning on but it never connects. In the Wi-Fi Settings it says “Turning Wi-Fi on…” but, again, it never actually connects nor does it show a list of networks to connect to. Then after a few minutes of “turning on”, the Wi-Fi turns off. I have power cycled my phone (even leaving it off for hours at a time) but it didn’t help. I even power cycled my modem/router at home but other Wi-Fi enabled devices are able to connect at home, just not my phone. Most of the responses I’ve found online are to power cycle the phone or possibly take it apart but I’m not comfortable taking it apart. I’ve had this phone since November 2014.

When this happened in the past, I had to factory data reset.  If this does not fix the issue, then the hardware is faulty.
