When is Verizon getting the LTE enabled version of the new Samsung Galaxy Watch?
Seriously, We would like to know. When I reached out to a rep, they stated: "We are currently working on a special promotion for the watch." That's all the info i got.
I spent a great deal of time in this forum about 2 years ago. When the Gear S3 was released I waited (not so patiently) for the Verizon version. It was release around Thanksgiving and verizon did not get it until about June the next year. I gave up waiting in February and got the T-Mobile version. It works well, although the call forwarding gets a bit clunky. I will not wait as long this time. I am holding out hope for the Verizon version (it's just simpler), but I will not wait 3 months like I did last time. I get benefits with T-Mobile which is nice: Free internet on planes, just got hooked up with Pandora free for a year, other free stuff throughout the year. Give us a date. Please. How about an era. Anything. Please.
The tmobile LTE worked with a verizon smartphone?
It depends if the device was designed from the Manufacturer to work on Both T-Mobile/GSM Network and Verizon/CDMA Network (which most newer smartwatches are). I have the LG Watch Sport, and my watch is compatible with both Netwotks. AT&T and T-mobile are both GSM Network devices and according to this Thread a T-mobile LTE Smartwatch cannot be used on the Verizon Network.
Can I Activate An AT&T Samsung Gear S3 LTE On Verizon?
Yes. The T-Mobile works with a Verizon phone. I have a line with T-mobile (~15/mo.) and I have my normal phone plan with Verizon. The calling feature is really just a call forward. It does not seem to be as seamless as it would be if both devices were on the same network, but it has been great. Verizon must not be getting it for awhile or they would be giving us some hope. It looks like the best option again is T-mobile. Which I do appreciate the free WiFi on Alaska Airlines (I travel every week, so this is a huge cost savings) plus with T-Mobile Tuesdays, they offer all kinds of free stuff. Last week was Pandora unlimited free for one year. Sometimes its MLB online free, or free Papa Johns Pizza. I would prefer the convenience of one carrier, but I also want the new Galaxy Watch.
No, the new Galaxy Watch does not work on TMobile as a standalone device without having a T-Mobile voice plan. I know because I just bought one and found out the hard way. Gear S3 may work, but not the new Galaxy Watch. TMobile also told me that this watch was unable to be unlocked.
No, it doesn't... I tried...took 3 days to figure out. I'm returning it tomorrow.
Yes, i remember that fiasco with the Frontier S3 almost two years ago. I too got tired of waiting for Verizon to release it, so i purchased it from T-mobile. Everything is working out fine, i just forward my verizon number to the t-moble s3 watch...Plus i read the new version called the Frontier Galaxy watch has lost some of functionality...so i will not be upgrading...
I am not upgrading any of my devices until the 5g network is completed and operating in my location. Why purchase a new 4g capable device when 5g is just around the corner....
I am also waiting on the answer to this. Moving from the iPhone X and Apple Watch to the Note 9 and Galaxy Watch (if and when it ever arrives on Verizon). I won't wait long.
a Verizon rep at best buy told me that best buy is suppose to start receiving it in october. (i discovered this while trying to activate the lte unlocked galaxy watch on verizon's network that bestbuy sells, it didn't work btw)
Actually all watches are unlocked. All the galaxy S and watch are. The problem is how Samsung did the sims software. It's just easier to say they are locked than to explain the software.
It does work as a standalone device but you need a phone to activate the sim on your specific network.
I wouldn't recommend buying any LTE Enabled Smartwatch and trying to connect it to the Verizon Network. That's because Verizon mysteriously disabled the feature that allows the device to connect to their network, (this feature is called Integrated Calling). What this means is, you will NOT be able to make phone calls from your smartwatch as a Stand Alone device. It makes no sense to spend upwards of $350 on a smartwatch that can't connect to the network. I would wait until Verizon enables this feature (not sure if they ever will) before I consider buying an LTE smartwatch.
Was Integrated Calling Disabled so that Verizon could establish 5G?
Not sure what you are talking about here. You can do this now with an Apple Watch. It works great.
Unless you are saying standalone, meaning without first connecting it to a Verizon phone?
Galaxy Watch doesn't work the same as an Apple Watch. It's set up so you have to go through the app that has to be on the same network.
Yes...I'm stating as a "Stand Alone Device" ...meaning, a device that can make calls without being connected to a phone.....Currently, LTE Smartwatches can still make calls if connected to a phone via Bluetooth, but they can NO-LONGER make phone calls as a "Stand Alone" device, because Verizon disabled the Integrated Calling feature....This disabled feature affects ALL LTE Smartwatches on the Verizon Network ( IE: LG Watch Sport, Apple Watch 3, Samsung Gear S3)... See attached Link for more Info.
To all, If you are a Samsung fan, my suggestion is to move to T-Mobile (i am working on that now) T-mobile always has the newest Samsung stuff right away, and no need to wait for months for Verizon to decide that they can make money off it and start to offer it.
I Agree with you100 %
Verizon has 2 Main Issues Right Now (in reference to it's mobile devices). #1- Their Verizon Message Plus App is no longer compatible with Google Smartwatch Software. Which means if you have an Android Smartwatch, the Verizon App won't work on it. #2 - Verizon has disabled Integrated Calling. Which means; If you have an LTE Smartwatch or Tablet, you can't make any calls on either device as "A Stand Alone Device".
These issues have been a Verizon problem since April of 2018. I finally got tired of waiting for Verizon to fix them. I did some research and found a Message App called "Pulse". It's compatible with Android Watch Software and it can be used in conjunction with the Verizon Message App on your phone. I use this App to sync my text messages between my Verizon phone and my LG Watch Sport Smartwatch. This App works great, but there's a $1 monthly fee to use the App. Next I went to T-mobile and got a T-mobile SIM Card installed in my Smartwatch. T-mobile charges me $15 per month for the phone line (Ugh!!). But it's nice to be able to use my watch again as a "Stand Alone Device". Unless Verizon corrects these issues soon...T-mobile will continue to steal away your customers...No wonder T-mobile is the fastest growing mobile company!!...Verizon Beware!!
Is this getting frustrating to anyone else?
I love my Samsung Phones and Watches, but if we can't get them or not told when we can.
I'll have to either switch to T-Mobile or Buy an iPhone and iWatch. Neither option I like, but maybe T-Mobile is the way to go.
Someone please post the Galaxy Watch LTE VERIZON release date???
Thanks!
My guess is anytime in the next 6 months.
I'm sure it's stuck in Verizon testing right now.
it looks like Best Buy has an unlocked version that they're selling but don't have in stock there is a high likelihood that will work on Verizon.
It's not guaranteed though.
Sent from my Verizon, Samsung Galaxy smartphone
Just curious because I just recently switched from an Apple to the Note 9 ... ... I dont care about using the watch for phone calls as I have it with me throughout the day in my office. I just want to be able to wear the watch while running (without taking my phone) and stream spotify or podcasts while also using a running app on the watch to track gps and have the music play through blue tooth headphones. I think I need to wait until the LTE version from verizon comes out correct? The Frontier will do this now correct?
Yes, i have the S3 Frontier Lte and i use it mostly for the activities you mentioned. However, I didnt wait to purchase the watch from Verizon last year because it took them too long to offer it, so i purchased the t-mobile S3 watch. You can download spotify but to scream it live you have to pay for a premium subscription, or you can just download music to your watch or earbuds(the samsung wireless earbuds are great but a bit pricey). I have not used the gps on the s3 nor have i used any other health/exercise app other than the ones provided by Samsung Gear. Lately, I experience some connection problems screaming spotify from my watch thru my earbuds. I don't know if the problem is with the t-mobile connection or spotify or the earbuds so i just listen to the music downloaded on my watch and/or earbuds.
I purchase Apple Watch Series 3 from my local Verizon store three weeks ago.
Provided it receives the cellular signal, I am able to make and receive calls without
it being synced to my phone. Remember that due to the small size it will not receive
the cellular signal as good as a cellphone.
I currently have 2 Gear S2 watches connected to Verizon. I FREQUENTLY leave my phone at the house and get calls from my phone # to my watch. My watch itself also has its OWN #. I DO NOT get texts that go to my phone on my watch UNLESS I am connected to the watch. I CAN however, get texts to my watches # as long as I have a "cellular" signal.
I get my calls from my phone INSTANTLY on the watch when connected to phone, and after 3 rings if i don't answer my phone the call is forwarded to my watch.
This is accomplished through the Gear app. I tell the app to turn on forwarding, the app then makes the *72 or #72 (or whatever the forwarding thing to do is, and u can hear the Verizon recording saying "calls will be forwarded to (and it states the number). This is how I get calls from my phone on my watch, if I were to leave my phone at home and go 100 miles (or any distance) away from my phone for that matter.
Also, the person doesn't also know that much about Samsung & Tizen/Android. Samsung actually made 3 Android smartwatches. The VERY FIRST run of the (Original) Samsung Galaxy Gear Smartwatch ran 4.2 Jellybean (they then switched to Tizen for the later ones) and had links showing you how to change the OS from Android to Tizen, the Gear Live, and the Gear Fit.
Even in his post he ADMITS that most of the Verizon Reps are tech geeks. So that shows why he can't get his watch to work on Verizon.
If the watch is not connected to Verizon for more than 6 months, the esim (as they don't have ACTUAL sim cards) get "RETIRED" by Verizon (and other carriers) so you can't connect to a carrier anymore. This is fairly new though.
So if we go back like 1 year, you could buy a used carrier connected smartwatch that had been sitting for 7 months not "active" on a line and call your carrier and have it connected.
The carriers now have changed that. So if you buy a used Carrier capable smartwatch now that has not been active on a line for more than 6 months. No matter what carrier you have they can't activate it.
This DOES NOT apply to a watch you CURRENTLY have connected (at the time of this post) or a BRAND NEW smartwatch. A Referb is still used so the 6 month still applies.
As stated, my Gesr S2s have thier OWN number with Verizon. My friend who just within the last week bought from Verizon a Gear S3 Frontier from Verizon and his watch makes and receives calls to his phone #. His watch DOES NOT have it's own #. That is because his is connected as a "shared number". So when he leaves his phone at home (or in his case usually dead battery) he gets his calls and texts. And as I said earlier, my watch only gets texts if I'm connected to my phone, or my closest family/friends text my watches number.
Moral of this, do your research on what I'm saying and that person is saying. I'm 100% CONFIDENT that you'll find s/he's FULL of "IT"!!!!
It will surely not be until we'll after the new Apple Watch is out. VZW puts every other product behind every competing Apple product. I just can't figure out why Samsung puts up with VZW's 3rd class treament
I for one, would like to see Verizon investigated for collusion with Apple to keep competitor products out of the marketplace. Or is it a coincidence that if you select Shop -> Accessories -> Smart Watches it takes you to the Apple subsite and lists only their products?
I know it is better to blame simple incompetence, as opposed to ill intent, but Verizon just seems too good at incompetence some days.
The delay with Verizon and other carriers getting the Galaxy watch is no different then when Apple originally allowed ATT an exclusive promotion period with the iPhone. T-Mobile has an exclusive introduction period with the Galaxy Watch. That is why it is not available with other carriers. Obviously the contract for this promotion period includes not releasing the date when other carriers will have the watch. Very smart on the part of T-Mobile. They are hoping that everyone who is impatient will switch carriers. If your use of your phone does not depend on network strength nationally and globally, then switching may be an option. Those of us who travel know better.
Would also love to hear the release date.
And for the record. I'm standing at the mall with my Frontier watch, turned off my phone, and just called my girlfriends phone. Seems to me like it makes stand alone calls. I use it to make calls all the time when I go to the pool and leave my phone in my hotel rooms.
Why does everyone keep bringing up the Gear S3, when we're talking about
the Galaxy Watch?

A friend, who works for Verizon says it will be available Oct 29th.
We are all waiting for the LTE version, and false claims are being made about the existing LTE watch. This is making people believe these claims also effect the upcoming version.
I'm with ya. Just wanted to share that my current experience differs from the claims being made. So based off these personal experiences, I expect the new version to act the same way. I hope it does.
I know that it for sure has to be tied to a voice plan for LTE. I bought
the watch with LTE on T-Mobile. However, it wouldn't work as a standalone
because I didn't have a T-Mobile smartphone/voice plan. It wouldn't work
with just a plan for the watch. I returned it and am left waiting on
Verizon.
On Mon, Sep 17, 2018, 8:22 AM Blackhawk007 <forums@verizonwireless.com>
I would only believe that release date if I see it in writing or an advertisement. When the S3 was released false release dates for Verizon was given over and over again by their sales people.
The LTE version of the Galaxy smartwatch will not function properly unless you buy the Verizon watch with the Verizon ROM. All these workarounds are IDIOTIC. Any phone or watch that's either "unlocked" or from another vender will be missing functions and features that you will uncover eventually. The whole purpose of the LTE version of the watch is to be self-sufficient and to function completely WITHOUT your phone. So why anyone buys this watch and falls for this game using a T-Mobile or any other vender's phone is really a sucker. I can't figure out why Verizon always plays these games with their customers, but we are largely a captive audience because none of the other venders provide adequate service in many areas including mine. So basically I'm sucked in again to this idiotic Verizon waiting game. And all of these so-called "release dates" are simply rumors, I'll believe that the stupid watch is available when I see it.
I can confirm DAVEKD7KXE is correct. Samsung Gear S3 smartwatch can be activated ($15/month) with it's own VZW number, which allows you to call out and receive calls and text ,check emails, stream premium spotify music, etc via 4G while you are away from your phone, not BT connected to your phone or connected to wifi. If you DO have BT connected AND have Samsung Gear/Wear software connected to your Gear S3 via BT, you will receive calls and texts and notifications on your GearS3. If you lose your bluetooth connection, and have "remote" setting enabled in Gear/Wear software on your phone, your calls and texts from your phone will STILL forward to your Gear S3 using Samsungs servers via 4G or wifi. When your are NOT bluetooth connected to your phone, and call OUT directly from your watch as standalone, it WILL show your Gear S3 vzw number on recipient's caller ID, NOT your phone's number, (same with my Gear S2 and S2 Classic (via 3g) which is why ....
VZW ALSO offers numbershare service (additional $5/month = total $20 month) which does all of the above, BUT shows your phone's number when you are calling out from your Gear S3 and NOT connected to your phone in any way. I had my GS3 working with numbershare for a week or so, which was cool. Then I changed vzw phone number on my cell, and have since been unable to get GS# and Note8 connected with Numbershare, so I can receive and respond too calls and texts from my phone (& number), but if I am disconnected from my phone and call or text direct from GS3, shows my GS3 number. For a time, when NumberShare was active, and my BT disconnected, I was prompted when calling out if I wanted to use my GS3 number or Phone # for call out. This was just in the last week. I just hung up wit vzw support after my 4th hour long call to attempt to have numbershare reconnected properly, still not fixed. Escalated to top tier tech support. I share this to those who are worried they will not be able to have standalone callouts/texts on new vzw Galaxy Gear when released. Will presumably have same setup.
I asked rep about the 6 months retire sim issue. Esims are not locked, just retired, similar to old sims after a normal android phone is not active beyond 6 mos you would need to order new sim or stop by vzw store and pick one up. Verizon gear watches unused/unactivated beyond 6 months can be reactivated on verizon. It is possible other carriers will not activate, not compatible or ploy to get you to switch service to their plans OR if device sim/esim has been blacklisted across carriers for being stolen, or unpaid contract/bills to original carrier.
Tech stated verizon does not LOCK ANY DEVICE.
Dude. What a waste of your time. We're talking about the new Galaxy
Watch....not the Gear S3. Thanks for attempting to help though.
GALAXY WATCH = T-Mobile exclusive, locked, doesn't work without a separate
voice plan on the mobile carrier.
Dude
I am very aware of the entire discussion. I was responding to specific post(s) within the discussion confirming standalone calling/texting with a separate vzw works on vzw Gear S3 and will also work on new vzw Galaxy Gear also, as they have similar specs (based on Tmobile's released specs) and will use Samsung Gear/Wear Android Software, regardless of carrier
I had plenty of time to waste as I was waiting for vzw tech support to call me back.
GALAXY WATCH is only temporarily Tmobile exclusive, as Verizon & ATT will also be releasing GALAXY WATCH. Chatted with Tmobile rep, who stated watch can be used on standalone plan without companion phone on voice plan, which doesn't seem likely.
All posts are searchable, so yeah, the info I posted may help others.
Your rude post, not so much.
Well, I am tired of waiting for information on the LTE version.
I can accomplish 90% of what I want the watch for with the bluetooth version plus my Galaxy S9 and Tab S4. So Best Buy will get my money and Verizon won't, and no I do not think Verizon will care one bit, but this whole episode just demonstrates the desperate need to seperate device sales from the network.
I am really tired of someone from Verizon deciding which devices I will be permitted to choose from.
IMO The Galaxy watch won't be released by other carriers until the T-Mobile special offer ends. They are offering a buy one get one half off deal. It does sound like there may be an excusive deal just for T-Mobile at the moment. Do they think you'll switch carriers or add a T-Mobile line just for the watch? Sounds silly to me. I wouldn't do that. Some may. The offer began on 8-24. So perhaps the promotion won't go much longer.
If this idea has already been mentioned please forgive. Didn't read all posts.
It would really be nice if Samsung would communicate that on launch. Tell
the customer that TMobile has a 30, 60, or 90 day exclusive rather than
just leaving their customers guessing.
gvanmeter81 wrote:It would really be nice if Samsung would communicate that on launch. Tellthe customer that TMobile has a 30, 60, or 90 day exclusive rather thanjust leaving their customers guessing.
gvanmeter81 wrote:
That would defeat the purpose of being exclusive. T-Mobile paid a lot to see people potentially switching. If people are impatient and switch well T-Mobile made theirs while Samsung made theirs. If Samsung says something then there is less incentive as there may be less people switching if they knew they had to wait a short period of time.
You would think that they would give a general idea of when they were going to at least make an announcement. Given the fact that the competition is already selling them and there is some customer interest, a reasonable person would expect to hear something. Feels like Verizon is too big and doesn't care to lose some customers. We all know they're reading these posts, why not answer up...?
Well I did go to Best Buy and purchase the Bluetooth version and I love this watch!
I have not missed the LTE connection and likely will not purchase one until the day they are 100% independent of the phones.
I am easily averaging 2.5 - 3 days on a charge, 42mm version, and find it very comfortable to wear all day and all night, sleep monitoring is excellent, at work/gym/home. I highly recommend reviewing why you want the LTE version to be sure it is worth giving Verizon your money.
While I have no specific evidence for why Verizon takes so long to obtain and provide Samsung watches I'm very confident why it is occurring using common sense and understanding greedy capitalistic companies. Bottom-line we Verizon customer will be the last inline to get the galaxy watch. This is because 1) Samsung is trying to keep as much money for themselves by releasing pre-sales from the Samsung site. and 2) each carrier buys for their right to sell the hot new tech. TT-Mobile is presumably has a contract with Samsung that takes the least amount off the top from Samsung (or pays Samsung the most), then AT&T (next inline to pay to be the "2nd batter"), and so on, and so forth.
This all means Verizon is leveraging their large customer base will stay with them, rather than pay Samsung for the right to get the galaxy watch higher up in the line up. It is all based on who will either pay the most for the right and/or require the least cost from Samsung. Again, it is solely based on these companies improving their bottom-line, not providing the product universally to all, because they will loose money if they did that.
So if you are like me, you need to decide if you are going to wait for the galaxy watch to come to Verizon (they say by the end of the year, but I would expect it will not be until after Xmas sales and will not be available until after the new year), or just get a competitors if they look just as good.
I agree. I've noticed the T mobile promotion is over. Perhaps by your theory they're ready to move on the the next highest bidder and we're that much closer. Just hurry up an wait.
Any word on Verizon getting the new Galaxy watch? Samsung keeps "Updating" the GS3 and every time my battery life drops significantly. [removed]
Content modified as required by Verizon Wireless Terms of Service
Its available NOW (10-26-18)!!!!!
Just found it on the Verizon site. I'm going to the Verizon Store today!!! I will be going to an actual Verizon Corporate store, not a Authorized Retailer. The place I'm going the employee's work for Verizon itself. I've already talked to my friend that works back east (I live in Wyoming) for Verizon and confirmed that it's available.
I'm glad Verizon is now selling The LTE Galaxy Watch. But be careful, just remember that the Integrated Calling Feature within the Verizon Message Plus App is still DISABLED. So You probably WILL NOT be able to connect to the LTE Network to make calls from your watch as A Stand Alone Device. For those of you that don't know what Integrated Calling is, please see attached link below. So before everyone runs out and buys this watch, I would contact Verizon and confirm with a Verizon 2nd Line Technician (who knows what he's talking about) ; who can confirm that this new watch can connect to the LTE Network as a Stand Alone Device despite The Integrated Calling Feature being Disabled.
The LTE Galaxy Watch for Verizon network also showed up today on samsung.com. For Sprint network it states standalone voice calling is NOT available it does not state that for Verizon.
I don't understand why there us an ass on here saying that the stand alone wint work!!!! S/He CLEARLY doesn't know anything. I have my Verizon version Samsung Galaxy Watch, and before I left the store u set my watch up, and had it connected to Verizon Cellular Network (incidentally it's a "NUMBER SHARE" and it'll cost $10 a month for this). Pay attention......
I turned OFF my phone, not just shut off all wireless, actually powered off my Note 8, and had my Rep call my cellphone #, and also send me a text message. Guess what.......IT WORKED, I GOT IT ON MY WATCH!!!!
So please QUIT spreading LIES!!!!! You have been proven THREE times that you are a LIAR. Once by me, then another poster, and now again by me!!!!!
Whoever you're talking about is probably referring to the fact that it
won't work without having a voice plan. The very fact that you just said
you had a "phone" shows you do. Cancel your phone's plan and then see if
your watch works "standalone".
On Sat, Oct 27, 2018, 12:27 AM DAVEKD7KXE <forums@verizonwireless.com>
Wouldn't the $10 additional fee for the Galaxy watch provide it own voice/data plan which would make it standalone?.....I say this because i purchased the S3 Frontier Lte watch from T-mobile 2 years ago(Verizon was too slow to get the watch on their network)....My watch functions as a standalone device, it has it own phone number voice/data plan....I forward my Verizon smartphone calls to my watch...it works fine....when i receive a call from my verizon smartphone, both the phone and watch rings and i can answer either one......i dont have to have the smartphone near me to answer the watch....Verizon NumberShare just make it more convenient to share your number with your watch without manually forwarding the calls....
You can purchase the Galaxy Watch on Verizon.com without having a Verizon phone, you just would not take advantage of the Numbershare option. I would suspect the watch would have its own number....at least i hope it would but then again Verizon is known to do some strange things with their devices....If the watch is not a total standalone on Verizon then i would not want it on their network...
I just read on Verizon.com you must have a "compatible" device on your Verizon account to assign to NumberShare when purchasing a wearable device such as the Galaxy watch......Does that mean your watch does not have its own number, if you so choose to use the watch as a standalone without a phone? So my ipad has its own number but the Galaxy watch cannot? Verizon is up to it usual tricks i see....
Wow!!...You must be one of the lucky ones who can still makes calls from their watch as a Stand Alone Device even though the Integrated Calling Feature has been Disabled by Verizon since April of 2018.
For the Record...The Disabled Integrated Calling Feature only affects connecting to the Verizon Network with your smartwatch as A "Stand Alone Device". You can still receive text messages and phone calls on your watch when it's Blue Tooth connected to your phone.
Can you do me a favor: Call the Verizon Customer Service Rep and have them explain to you, how you're STILL ABLE to make calls from your watch as A "Stand Alone Device" even though The Integrated Calling Feature is Disabled. When the Rep is finished explaining the process to you; have them come to this forum and explain the process to the rest of us, because I'm curious to know how that's possible...
I just find it strange; that as long as this forum has been going on....No Verizon Rep has commented on this issue Thus Far!!
I bought the Verizon Galaxy Watch yesterday. I can confirm it has its own number and can work 100% as a standalone watch. I shut my phone off, went to the gym and made a call from my watch about 3 miles away from my house without my phone.
Not sure why JOG0277 is obsessed with telling everyone that it can't.
Can you actually use the watch number assigned if you dont want to use your smartphone number? My ipad has it own number but its useless, no one can call me on the number and i cannot call out...
I never said The New Galaxy Watch Couldn't make calls as "A Stand Alone Device"....Please go back and RE-READ what I wrote. I told everyone to double check with Verizon and MAKE SURE the watch can connect to the Verizon Network before they waste their money and purchase the watch..
I picked one up today/October 30, 2018 in Seattle. They got them in store a couple days ago. I'm coming from a Gear S2 and have been waiting a long time for this. Unfortunately it's going back. The heart rate sensor doesn't work while moving/working out. I Googled this and sure enough there are massive complaints from others. There is only one green sensor light and my Gear S2 has two sensor lights and worked great. I track my heart during work outs and this is very important. It works if your arm is still but that's impossible during work out.
Here is a list of compatible phones for the Samsung Galaxy Watch from Verizon:
The Samsung Galaxy Watch can be paired with an eligible Android smartphone running Android 8.0 or higher & RAM 1.5GB above.
The Samsung Galaxy Watch is not compatible with The Google Pixel™ family of smartphones or iPhone®.
The following is a list of compatible devices (note: all colors and sizes are included):
It does not fully work with Moto. I.just retuned my watch after Verizon could not get mail to.work.and I.could not receive.calls.without bluetooBl to my phone,.I could make calls.just not receive them. Verizon said that only a smartwatch connected to Samsung phone had a mail.app and there was no way to.add.the app. Very dissapointed that my Moto phone will not work. Now the fight is Verizon is charging me a $50 restocking fee for a product that will not work as.sold.
There's a setting for "continual" heart monitoring.
There are 3 different settings.
Continual
Frequent
Never / Manual
I have been trying for 5 days to get my watch to work as stand alone. Not one rep out of the 10 encountered can help me. Watch has a separate line, $10 per month. I have been able to connect to Verizon network but when I turn off Blue Tooth I am asked if I agree to make calls on data plan. I accept, Watch then starts a "preparing" cycle . Never completes whatever it is preparing and I'm left with only able to make emergency calls.
Can someone tell me why I can buy the watch online, but not in my local verizon store? The store employee was no help. They tried to tell me the ones on display were them, but they were clearly ticketed as the S3. The employee said there was a clitch with the connectivity and that's why its not in the store yet, but they do not know when it will launch in the store.
Can anyone share any info on these questions?
Hey Guys...Take a look at this Thread below, it seems people are having a hard time getting their New Galaxy SmartWatch (Verizon Version) to connect to LTE as a Stand Alone Device....
Galaxy Watch LTE not connecting to network
Verizon has two methods of using a "Standalone" Samsung Smartwatch one is the previously mentioned method of sharing another account phone number. The watch will work away and without any phones near it. They also can provide a separate Standalone phone number for the watch.
The problem is that Verizon tech support struggles greatly in setting up this process. it can be done and that is the main purpose of buying the LTE version of a Smartwatch.
