Hello, to whom it may concern. I would like to request 5G service to an area that there may be a large amount of customers that would like 5G.
According to Verizon's coverage-map, the only services available in the area are 4G LTE and the nearest 5G would be Blacksburg, VA/ Christainsburg, VA about 30 miles from Roanoke, VA. Here is a list of reasons why 5G should be provided in Roanoke, VA.
1.) Plenty of existing 4G towers and upgradeable equipment opportunities.
2.) Customers are switching to at least two other mobile providers that have 5G in the area. I know of at least 2 others that switched to other service providers mainly due to this reason.
3.) Roanoke's metropolitan area has a population of over 300,000 residents according to censusreporter.org and there is no 5G coverage within the metropolitan area. Versus the Blacksburg-Christiansburg metro area of about half.
4.) The majority of phones are 5G capable and plans are for 5G, but neither can be used to their fullest extent. Means unhappy customers that are being overcharged and false advertising from Verizon stores in the area selling the 5G phones.
5.) It would be also along a major interstate (I-81) that according to i-81coalition.org has over 50 thousand vehicles travel this stretch of I-81 daily. Thats well over 18 Millon vehicles a year. Traveling customers would thank you tremendously.
I believe its about time to have 5G provided in the Roanoke area, there has been 5G by other big names here for a while now. Other reasons why it should be possible for Verizon to have 5G here: there are few airports, The National Radio Quite Zone is over 15 miles north of Roanoke, ETC. Please consider adding it to the area, and also to any other areas that other request! I would recommend setting up a service request survey website for people to recommend coverages in certain areas.
