I know this question has been asked many times but there still isn't a clear answer. In fact, many customers have been charged back their rebate due to this problem. I've contacted customer service on the chat, by phone, and in the store so far and none of them understand the BYOD rebate terms and timeline...which is alarming.
I joined verizon, a year ago to this day, with the BYOD rebate on that same day. This rebate stipulates that you, as a customer, not change your phone plan or upgrade your device or cancel your plan for 12 months. I've met these requirements (or so I think I have) and received my rebate over 9 months ago. The issue here is I'm completely unsure when I can upgrade my phone or change my plan without incurring a charge back like many others have run into to.
According to the terms it says 12 months. Is this 12 months from activation date or 12 months from receiving the rebate? Why hasn't verizon set up a timeline tracker for customers to see when this end date would be? I imagine its so its customers fail to meet there undefined and vague requirement so then they, in the end, have to pay back this gift amount.
If there is anyone who can actually answer what date this 12 months start on and where to find that date, that would be fantastic. As someone who does a lot of research and due diligence, this has me completely in the dark and is infuriating I can't get a clear answer.
