Changing phone on new line with promotional credit

I am looking to add my mom to our plan. If I add a new line I am able to get the A71 for "free". I understand that there will be a promotional credit credit for 24 months for this phone on the new line. If I decide to change the phone on her line to an iPhone X (immediately) will the credit still be in effect? We may also change out my wife's Note 8 for the A71 if we can do the swap for my mom.

Don't know the answer but I would read the promotion offers and see what phone or phones apply they seem to be specific to what is covered

Keep in mind that this promotion requires you to add a new line to your account, and it also requires the new line to be added with a Premium Unlimited Plan to qualify.

The new device purchase must be purchased on a new Device Payment Plan, and that plan must remain active on the line for which it was ordered to continue to receive the monthly promotional credits for this promotion. You can switch the device to a different line, but the Device Payment agreement must remain on the added line to continue to receive the promotional credits. Does this help answer your question?

If I have this in place (brought my son over, added the line and got the promo credit), can I change MY monthly plan without effecting his credit? Somehow I got put on the $55 plan from the $45 plan. I do not have a new phone or any phone payments, only he does. I want to change back to the $45 plan, but don't want him to lose the promo credit. Would me changing just my plan effect that? We would be keeping his on the $55 plan.

meredith291982, we see that you have a concern as well. If the promotion required a certain plan, then you would need to be on that plan to continue on with the promotion and receive the credits. Does that answer your question?
