We switched from AT&T to Verizon on 9/6/2024. It has been nothing but a HUGE hassle and I have MAJOR regrets. First, our numbers were not ported correctly and it took us MULTIPLE calls and hours on each to get services ported. So while our service was “active” and billed we still had to use AT&T.
We paid 256.00 down, I upgraded my phone within a week of receiving the initial device and it cost an additional $95.00. Then our first bill was 426.00. I understood the restocking fee’s activation fees etc.
However, part of us signing up was due to the $200.00 gift card (that was promised and included on our order confirmation ). I followed the timeline and after WEEKS said gift card didnt exist.
I called and was told it would be escalated. It was not I reached back out on 9/24 and was told they would manually apply a gift card and sent me all of the information. It still says pending and would be completed by 10/21. Today is 10/24 and I was told “the rebate center doesn’t always update”. I was told that I needed to read the fine print. To which it says after validation its an 8 week wait.
So, it cost me hours and days of my time oh and just a measly 770.00.
I know of we cancel and go back to AT&T there will be early termination fees so now we are stuck.
I have screenshots of everything!

Captains Log Day 43473.. No seriously persistence and receipts pay off!
Thank you to the amazing and wonderful chat agent “Scarlett” who has worked tirelessly for the last three hours to fix this issue.
It turns out the rebate was never valid despite the offering. However, after MANY screenshots they saw that indeed I was promised a gift card, I did everything correct, therefore I was owed what was promised. They applied the 200 to my bill as a credit and I am beyond satisfied. While it took days, times, and persistence. I understand customer service and understand processes. So as long as it was rectified; I am happy and consider it job well done.
phew 😅
