Why is it not clear what plans are eligible for the discount? When I try to chat with a Verizon rep it tells me that I need to call. When I attempt to call it will then send me a link to chat? Verizon needs to step up with their customer service and stop with the promotions for adding lines.

I may be wrong, but I'd have thought job-related discounts such as the first responder discount could be applied to any current postpaid plan. The catch is that discounts and promotions aren't stackable, so if you're already receiving some other discount, then you have to pick between one or the other. My opinion only, but I think the reason why there are so many offers out there is because Verizon is trying to find as many ways to suit as many different situations as possible and there is no one size fits all scenario.
I'm not a Verizon employee, just another customer trying to help.
