Why can’t we switch to Verizon?

Dear Verizon,
We have been with ATT since 1995. My husband was reluctant to change, but after some time I convinced him, mainly because I do not get service at the school I work at as a paraprofessional.
We have 3 phones and 3 watches. I contacted Verizon and you had a great deal going on, iPhone 16 pro for free and home internet for half the price we are paying. Also offered was a teachers discount. I was pumped
I spent 2.5 hours on the chat app trying to get signed up with no success. The chat dropped 3 times and I had to start over 3 times with 3 different reps. So I call. I spent 2.5 hours on the phone. Had to give all of our IMEI numbers, pick out the phones we want, watches we want, they were going to pay off what we currently owe on our devices, so sent in screenshots of what we owe for each device. Gave our address for home internet. It took SO long. The order is finally complete, then we receive an error. They have to enter it all again. So we go through the exact….same….thing…again…
I find out that I do not qualify for the teacher discount because I am not a certified teacher. My $17,000 a year salary, which is lower than teacher pay, does not qualify me for the discount.
After all of that, another error was received. The Verizon rep told us he would call us back in 2 hours once it was fixed. No phone call was received, so the next day, we called Verizon while we were at our daughter’s pitching lessons. We go through everything again because they didn’t save our order…only this time, we don’t have a couple of the devices with us and they can’t process the order without the devices.
The new rep gave us her direct line to call and give the order AGAIN….
I am honestly so frustrated I don’t think we should switch. I don’t know what to do. I have wasted over 6 hours of my life that I will never get back. Is the lack of signal and data throttling with ATT worth it?
Convince me…convince my husband-who I begged to switch and he finally agreed.
To top it all off…we are in the car on the phone with Verizon, our daughter finishes her lesson, and runs to the car so excited asking us if we saw her last pitch….”no we missed it, we were on the phone with Verizon”.
Thanks Verizon…
