You might want to direct your question to the developers of the application which would be Amazon.
I'm most definitely NOT a VZW employee. If a post answered your question, please mark it as the answer.

Possibly, but how to delete them through the Kindle application would be in help section for that application. That's why I directed them to Amazon.
The process to delete files is sometimes slightly different from one application to another. I know that Nook and Aldiko function differently in several ways, but the applications serve the same function.

open your kindle app. select the "on device" tab (it shows all downloaded books). long press (touch and hold for a couple seconds) the book you want to delete. a menu pops up. select "remove from device.
just a tip.....long pressing objects will often bring up menus or options with actions you can take.
