My Droid Razr upgraded to Android 4.04. Now I cannot put any Widgets on the Home Screen. When I press and hold on the Home Screen, all I get is a pop-up to do something with Wallpaper. There is nothing about Adding Widgets, like there used to be. Any ideas how to fix this bug?

The widgets are now in the app drawer. When you open the app drawer, you should see a Widgets tab at the top.

Not so correct an answer. At least one of my widgets loads, then instructs me to "long press" to add/change what I want to change. Of course, since that functionality was taken away, I can't do that anymore. This makes the widget functionally useless.
How is this viewed as an improvement? I'm not asking this as a snarky question, either - I would genuinely like to know how removing this function is viewed as making the software better.

The capability of the app should not have changed. What app are you having the issue with?

I just installed it and added it to my Motorola RAZR MAXX running ICS, and I added it to the home screen fine. If I long press on the clock, it wants me to move the clock around, or trash it, but if I just click on it, it brings up Alarms and Timers tabs. If I MENU click at that screen, a menu comes up and gives me the options Desk Clock, Add Alarm, and Settings. Is there more than that to configure it? Or what else are you trying to do?
When I added it to the Home Screen, I had to go to the Apps Drawer, and there is a "Widgets" tab on the upper right, it was in there. Message was edited by: Droid Usrr

Thanks so much for your question, Woonsocket.
What happens when you follow these steps?
From a Home screen, select Apps (located in the lower center).
From the WIDGETS tab, select and hold a widget.
Drag the widget to the desired home screen then release.
(For the widget to be successfully added, there must be sufficient space within the selected home screen).
If applicable, select additional options to activate widget.
Options may vary depending upon widget type.

Tamara,
I’m puzzled by your response. This action is precisely what does not work – which is why I posted the query in the first place. This is the generic instruction for installing an app. I’m not being deliberately rude, but genuinely curious when I ask this question – did you carefully read my original question? I can’t get a clock app to install, because it specifically wants me to use the old-style method of long holding a spot on my home page to install the app. That no longer works – now the only option I get is to choose wallpaper. A function which would have allowed me to use this app was removed in the latest software update. I guess you can try to sell this as an “improvement”, but I don’t see it that way -

It won't work Bob if you have Limited Space on your Home Screen but try this if you have nothing on your far Right or Far Left Try Holding the Widget and taking it to one of them and placing it there and it might be a Case were the Widget need to be Updated before it Can operate on I.C.S. When i wanted to use my Clock widget Swiss Book Watch i had to free up Take some of the Widgets off the Screen before i could put the Watch there on the Middle Home Screen.. b33

I am also having widget troubles.
I have downloaded and installed a dozen different clock widget apps and none of them will show up in the widgets tab.
I can't seem to get the any clock widget to attach to any page of my home screen.
When I press the app button and select the widgets tab, these widgets just don't show up at all.
If I open the apps tab group I can tap the app icon for the widget, but this just opens the widgets settings screen.

Strange goings on...
I downloaded a few more clock widgets and installed them.
Now some, but not all of them are showing up in the widgets tab and I can add them to a home screen.
Maybe this is a cache glitch - the list of widgets is cached and something refreshed the cache.
