This is the second RAZR in THREE days that has done this. It gave me the message "System error force close" without specifying what program and then started going through the reboot process. Soon as it gets done rebooting, repeats error message and starts new reboot. My last phone did it for two days til the battery ran out, just got this phone yesterday and it made it maybe 8 hours before it started the same cycle. BTW, all downloads are from either Verizon or Google PLAY.
I am at a loss. Anyone else ever heard of this?

See my post below regarding removal of Antivirus Pro and the ultimate "sledgehammer" fix performed by my local Verizon store. I has worked so far but I really don't like to go through a "brain rebuild" because of an error that should have been fixed by now (several 'Droid blog sites have posts regarding similar problems going back to 2009!) or that should have a less brutal "fix".
Good advice on the apps listed. I had issues with ATK and Lookout on my ThunderBolt. AVP was recommended by a rep at my VZW store and it never gave me problems on the 'Bolt.

If you'd tried "experimenting" with your phone...don't....you can easily throw yourself in a "bootloop" or brick your phone...also it voids your warranty

I'm really surprised that Verizon hasn't fixed this yet. I have a lot of apps and wonder if it is that.

It very Well could Be put your Razr in safe Mode an Run it an see how it Does..
What is safe mode and how do I use it with the DROID RAZR?
Safe mode is a method that allows the device to run without non-essential applications. This is beneficial for troubleshooting 3rd party applications.
- Power the device off.
Press and hold the Power button then select Power off.
- Power the device on.
Press and momentarily hold the Power button.
- When the Motorola Dual Core screen appears, simultaneously press and hold Volume Up / Down keys.
- Continue to hold the Volume Up / Down keys until Safe mode appears in the lower left.
Disable Safe mode
- Power the device off.
Press and hold the Power button then select Power off.
- Power the device on.
Press the Power button.

Same here! I got the RAZR MAXX YESTERDAY. I have had problems with it not recognizing the SD card. So, I turned it off, removed and reset the 32GB card. That was in the first 3 hours of having it.
After about 8 hours of reinstalling, resetting, etc. all of the apps I NEED on the phone (and only installing a few of the "wants"), it was lagging bad. So, I did the Power+V- reset and it worked...except the "4GLTE" indicator is no longer there. Since that is not important from my home office, I ignored it.
I installed iSyncr to the SD card and then USB connected the MAXX to my PC. At first, the only thing it was recognized as was a CD ROM drive for one of the "MOTO" apps. I ejected, unplugged, powered off, reseated the SD card, and tried again. Same results.
I then installed iSyncr to the "internal" memory and the USB connected MAXX came up OK. I ejected and ensured my iTunes set up on my PC was square.
Since then, for about the last 3 hours, my MAXX just boots and reboots and reboots. Sometimes I can get onto it, most times I cannot. Even when I can access the device, I get network connection errors, icons for programs on the SD card are generic but usually access the program before erroring out, and I get several "System error--force close" beasts.
I'll keep y'all updated on what happens when I try the Safe mode issue above.
Various other threads on other blogs recommended uninstalling A/V software (I had AntiVirus Pro (AVP) running but I uninstalled it during the continuing reboot cycles), the Power+V- reset (no joy...), and/or plugging in the recharger (the "cord" and not a docking station) and then Power+V- (I have had mine plugged in for the last hour or so, tried several resets and the phone will not get past 40% charged nor stop being stuck on stupid).
I had some issues with syncing, etc. with the original Droid and a power button that lost its spring on the HTC ThunderBolt but this is RIDICULOUS!!! Based on several blog sites, the Droid has had some form of problem with the reboot loop since 2009...
*sigh*
Message was edited by: TheBigDog143 Just as I was turning around to attempt the SAFE MODE...my MAXX decided it would partially boot and is now stuck on a black screen with a white "Droid" centered... ... ... ... ... ...
Message was edited by: TheBigDog143 Did the safe mode and it rebooted itself, again! In SAFE MODE, the 4GLTE did not work, SD card app shortcuts were generic, all saved password for SD card apps are gone...oh, wait...it just rebooted itself again!!!!
Message was edited by: TheBigDog143 FINAL RESOLUTION??? I contacted Verizon tech support and they said that it sounded like a software issue. So, I was able to go back to the Verizon store where my MAXX was reset to factory settings...The rep I talked with there said it was most likely my A/V program (and that the Verizon network checks for viruses at the tower?...right...). She also stated that she never saw a RAZR do the reboot boogie. (She also did not know Google 2-step authentication means you need a unique code to initiate phone set up, either.) Hope others have better success. I'm off to rebuild my electronic brain...

Hey, B33...thanks for the reply and questions.
First, the 32GB card was the one from my previous phone (HTC ThunderBolt). The rep at the Verizon store pulled the new, unformatted card from the MAXX and plugged in my card. The issue with mine does appear to have been "software" related.
I've been able to install all of my required/desired apps. Today, I'm working on testing each one to make sure it works. So far, my Linux command database, Last.fm, and all of my social/blog/web accounts and apps appear to work fine. I've run about six "Smart Actions" and all they needed was some tweaking to work as I need them.
I appreciate you directing me to YouTube for syncing my devices. When I get to the apps that require syncing with my desktop, I'll take a look and see if there are any nuances with the MAXX that were not issues with the Droid1 or Thunderbolt!
Again, many thanks for the response. I realize the more knowledge I gain, the more knowledge I need to gain.

I have the same phenomenon with a RAZR periodically. It seems to happen if I am not paying attention to power and let the phone go dead before recharging, and sometimes if I let the battery go below 15% or so before sticking in the charging cord. Then, after charging, I find the phone goes into repeated reboots. One interesting symptom is that, after it reboots, it always "loses" my wallpaper and goes back to the default. Once it is in this loop, it will reboot at the drop of a hat. Sometimes, just unlocking it will do it. Sometimes I bring up the phone and am entering in a phone number and it decides to reboot when I hit a number key. Sometimes, just trying to start an app. Another symptom is that some of my app or widget icons would show up as "loading," and never actually link to an app.
I do get the com.motorola.home.other shutdown error periodically. Not uncommon if you are using a different launcher (I've used several, including ADWLauncher EX, but settled on Go Launcher EX along with its keyboard with multiple themes, and other GO goodies). I particularly like setting up my icons five by five in each pane without it looking overcrowded, being able to expand the horizontal-scrolling dock to 15 apps, and create extra panes as needed. A Verizon tech told me that the rebooting was the fault of using a custom launcher, but the saleswoman standing next to him said she'd been using GO longer than I had without a problem, and I brought it up in SAFE mode and even backed up the entire phone and did a factory reset, and still saw the problem, so it isn't a launcher problem. I've discovered over the years that the so-called technicians at the typical Verizon store are about two IQ points short of a stale Cheez Doodle.
Once, I powered down and left the phone sitting on my desk, only to have it spontaneously turn itself on and boot. I heard that croak "Droid," and just about jumped out of my chair.
The only solution, at least for me, after it gets into this constant reboot cycle, is to let it boot to the lock screen and then just sit there for five or ten minutes. Then, when I unlock it, my launcher and all its toys are working and all of the icons are loaded and linked.
Note: this cycle only happens after a charge, if I had let the battery get really low or fully discharge before recharging. If I'm in the red when I go to recharge, I know what's coming. Then, all I get stuck with is having to reselect my wallpaper again.
