I dont know who to believe now. I upgraded to a DROID RAZR (before the RAZR maxx came out) and I was told at the time of the upgrade that my phone would receive ICS. Now, I'm reading that the RAZR is not on the roll-out list for ICS.. WTF!!
Can anyone please tell me if this phone that I paid for, and am stuck with until 8/2013 will even get ICS like I was told in the VZWL store when I bought the phone....

I used ICS on a Galaxy Nexus for 5 months and the OS rocks.....I don't understand why people say it doesn't add much to the experience. The Gmail app is vastly improved. Managing apps is crazy simple with ICS and has tabbed browsing, which makes going back to a page your were reading the day before super simple. You can have up to 16 tabs open!!! The look of the OS is clean and streamlined. I switched to a Razr Maxx because my Nexus had crappy radios and had trouble picking up a 4G or 3G connection. The only reason I switched to the Maxx was because it is being upgraded to ICS. For those who aren't sure you can go on Motorola's page and there is a list of phones being upgraded to ICS. I checked just now and the Raxr and Razr Maxx are both ON the list for receiving ICS by the end of the second quarter, which is in the next week and a half.

I was just stating my opinion. and you're certainly entitled to yours. I'm sure ICS isn't for everyone.

What problems are you having with the phone that the ICS update will fix? Is there specific features that ICS will give your phone that you do not have now?
If the phone works fine now, what is the hurry to need to update the OS?

For those of you who say that ICS isnt that great or wonder why someone would want ICS when you have Gingerbread, you obviously havent played with ICS. I have had it on my phone for the last couple of months and, I gotta tell ya, I would never go back to GB! It looks better, I have more control over what runs and how it runs and I just like the experience so much more. Of course, there are those that are content with having whatever works, and those that want the latest and the greatest.>Edited post to comply with VZW ToS. Discussions concerning hacking, rooting, jailbreaking are not allowed on this forum< I doubt I'll bother with the update cos of the bloatware, but my bf is a purist and won't flash. He's waiting for the ota. Silly guy. 🐵

Never wait for Android or Verizon to release software. >Post edited to comply with VZW ToS. Any discussion on rooting, hacking, jailbreaking are not allowed on this forum< I have always doubted the release of ICS for my droid x when I had it and no my razr. Sure it says the release date is Q2 but it can easily be changed to Q3 on June 30.

Yeah I've read where people want to sue and whatever but it says on the chart for when ics is going to be released that the time is subject to change. What large company would be so rigid that they wouldnt put a disclaimer in their timetable? I wouldnt hold my breath waiting for the ota.

Counting the minutes before a VZN MOD alters some of the comments in this thread ... (ahem) ...
