Basic Visual Voice mail - Droid

I started using the Basic Visual Voice mail on my Droid Maxx.

In the list of Voice message(s) there is a white STAR that can be selected to make it light blue. What does highlighting this star do?
I know that is a message I can Save it to the device through the menu, but do not know what the star does.

We're happy to clear that up! The start would allow you to mark the message as a favorite and is simply used to categorize/flag your messages.
