IF YOU DO MAKE THE FATAL MISTAKE OF UPDATING TO ICE CREAM SANDWICH DO NOT BOTHER CALLING VERIZON OR GOING INTO A VERIZON STORE BECAUSE YOU WILL BE WASTING YOUR TIME.

Oh yes I'm clueless, that's why there are multiple posts with ICS issues for the Razr. Ok <Keep it clean!> commonsense101, since you are so versed in ICS on a Razr please tell me how to adjust the volumes separately for the phone ringtone, text ringtone, and notification ringtone. Oh <Keep it clean!>, please don't waste my time by telling me to go to Setting / Sounds / Volumes because that doesn't work. And yes it's OTA but you can hit cancel when asked if you wish to update, which several friends have chosen to do until the bugs are worked out.

I suppose the 11 people I known who have Razr's, two of which work in an Information Services Department and have computer degrees, are also clueless. <Comment deleted per the TOS.>.

I guess I'm one of the other "non-500,000" who got it and got burned.  So is the tech at Verizon who is having the same problems with his phone.

Your "put downs" aren't appreciated and should have been monitored by the Verizon Moderator.

Thanks Jim,

Yeah I'm clear. Verizon is no help. Since my last post is being moderated I'm assuming commonsense101 got his/her feelings hurt, even though he/she thinks it's ok to offend me by calling me clueless, or Verizon got offended and doesn't want it's customers to know the truth.

I wonder if they'll push it out to the phones for those who haven't updated . My daughter hasn't updated her Maxx yet, I told her not to yet till she has time to learn all the differences in the OS from gingerbread. I personally have had minimal issues, but all in all ICS is working well for me.

I've had ICS for about a week now. Have had no problems at all, and in fact, I really like ICS. It allows me to do several things that GB did not. The way you load apps onto the various screens is a breeze. Setting up folders on the home screens is so much easier. I also like the way they bunched various topics in Settings. My speed seems a bit faster and my battery appears to last longer with ICS. In short, you can check me off as being a happy camper.

I'm one with continuing radio issues but that in no way detracts from the overall sweetness of I.C.S.

Here's a little tidbit I REALLY like, you can "stack" or group the row of favorites on either side of the app drawer icon, that is so simple yet so handy! I have multiple applications I use for work, both to manage our network completely and for communication and testing - now they're right there on any screen.
I likey!

What is the "radio issue" you speak of?

I too have had no problems with the ICS update (did it manually when the OTA first became available).

I do feel for those that have problems though. I've been in that boat before. 😕

The radios just randomly stop working. I don't know if it's authentication or transmission/reception. 4G indicator will be solid blue with full signal strength indicated and then the next instant, still indicating nothing wrong, your connection will be gone...a moment or two after that the 4G and signal strength will turn white then the 4G disappears completely. Then a moment later all is well again. This also causes issues w/WLAN connections, when the radio is cycling or doing whatever it is that it does, WLAN will be up/down as well.

ok I guess Im dumb, but when you say "radio" do you mean like an AM/FM radio? a transciever of some sort? or is this "radio" you mention as well as certain internet sites a slang term for something else? Id really like to know

The radio is what picks up either the 3G or 4G LTE signal from the tower.

There are at least 3 radios in the Razr, 3G, 3G and WLAN. 3G and 4G may be the same radio but I don't believe so.

I like the new bottom row in it's entirety. I used to fiddle with the most common apps I use all the time. I would move icons on pages to either side of the home screen. Now I just "Stack" them.

@Duewester - that one of my favorite changes they've made. Simple but very effective!

I have ICS, haven't had any problems so far. I'm still learning about all of the things it can do. Maybe you just have a bad phone.

Nope not unless I got 4 bad Razr's and now have a bad Maxx as well.
