Black Splotches On True Black Background

Hi, I am having an issue with my new Droid Razr (16GB).
The Problem: I am in a dark room, I look at my screen with a true black #00000 background and I see black splotches on my screen.
The issue is that from my knowledge, the Super AMOLED screen is supposd to be turning off pixels completely, yet I see a faint glow in the entire screen (except the black splotches I mentioned above).
So my question is... Is the Super AMOLED Advanced screen the droid razr uses supposed to turn off the pixels completely, or display a faint glow when in true black? Because the issue is that if it is not turning off the pixels completely, it is using battery for those pixels to remain on. And that would indicate that the screen is not functioning properly, and that I am not getting the battery life I could be getting with a fully functional device/screen.
Thanks for reading and I hope you can help, as I have yet to find a single post on the battery life issue of these "screen blotches"

Nakien: What you seeing is Ok to See this is Normal Phenomenon in the Razr an Razr Maxx i have seen this on mine an when i Razed the Question i was Told this Ok to Be there. It has been Reported on this Forum an the Motorola Forum. The Motorola Forum Manager said this is Normal Nothing is Wrong with the Device an or the Screen. An there's No need to Return it as you will see the same thing as the Device you Currently Have.

not quite... I already knew that this is normal with these superamoled screens, I'm just bringing into question the fact that the black splotches seem to be (turned off pixels) as in (working as intended) which would save battery life, rather than the soft glow of the rest of the screen that are not black dots. I have no problem with the black dots unless they are the parts of the screen that ARE working correctly.
so my question still stands... are the area's of the screen that are NOT black splotches normal? aka is the screen supposed to have a light glow visible in very low light situations (in a dark room using true black background etc). And are the black splotches actually functioning correctly and the REST of the screen (the faint glowy backlight looking parts) broken.
I mainly bring this into question because I've read up on amoled displays and see that the technology is supposed to turn off pixels completely. and have no glow whatsoever.
i hope this made sense i dont know how else to put it
