Blueborne Bluetooth Vulnerability

Does anyone know whether Verizon and Motorola will be issuing the patch Google provided them in August to protect the Droid Turbo from Blueborne?

The Armis app reports the phone is at a high risk for exploit.

Are we just supposed to turn off the Bluetooth functionality and wait?

Verizon has a pretty bad track record for updating the original Droid Turbo.

Thanks, but that doesn't really help, unfortunately.

I have the latest software version available for the Droid Turbo

installed, but it is I N A D E Q U A T E because it predates the

relevant security fixes.

The issue is that there is a looming disaster waiting to happen to any

Android phones that don't have the security patch Google provided to

Verizon last month to address the Blueborne Bluetooth vulnerability.

Will Verizon be supporting its one-time flagship phone that is less than 3

years old? Or will we all have to chuck them?

Google is only now getting the security patch with the blueborne bug fixed for the Pixels and the other devices still supported. After two years since the phone's release I wouldn't expect any security updates for any non-google devices.

Totally agree with the logic here. My Droid Turbo must have the BlueBorne vulnerability, unless Motorola can claim it's Bluetooth stack is different. But only devices exclusively using Bluetooth Low Energy are safe, according to Armis.
