Bluetooth problem with new upgrade

I’m having a problem with my Razar Maxx and the hands free device in my car.  I have had the phone over a year and drive a 2007 Nissan Altima and during that time the phone and car worked well together.  Recently the phone was upgraded to the 4.0.4 Ice cream sandwich; this is when the problem
started.  No sound thru the speakers.  I followed all the instruction to pair them together.  I removed the paired connection from both the hands free device and phone; then paired them together as new items.  Using voice commands, in the car, I can make call but no sound, ringing or voice, is heard thru the car system, I must listen thru the phone.  Incoming calls do not ring thru the speakers like they did before.  Is there an answer to this condition????

TSCDesigns, software updates should add functionality to your phone, not take it away! It looks like you've done quite a bit of troubleshooting already. At this point, the next step I would recommend is to complete a factory reset http://bit.ly/PfOnz8. This will erase data not saved on the SD card and reset the phone to default settings. When a major update is released, sometimes a reset is needed if certain features not working.

Let me know if you need further assistance.

Thank you for your help. Today (1/16/13) I went to the Verizon store and had them reset the phone, as you suggested. The phone came back just as before with phone book intact. I then tried to pair the phone with my hands free in the car. Nothing had changed. I could pair them together and use the car controls to make a call, the call would connect but could only be heard thru the phone not the car speakers.

The phone is running;

Android version 4.0.4

System build 6.16.211.XT912.Verizon.en.US

Build number 6.7.2-180_DHD-16_M4-31

What’s next? When will this Jelly Bean come out, could it help me?
