Confused about when I am using data!

I feel like an idiot, but I have always had a bundle and unlimited everything. Now with my new Droid Razzr maxx, I have a set plan.  If I am showing the wifi is on, does that mean I am not using my data plan?  How does that work??  Yes, I thought I was smarter than a fifth grader before I switched phones....

If your phone shows you are connected to your wifi, the data you are using is not charged against your wireless data alotment.

You will notice when you connect your phone to a wifi connection, the 1X, 3G, or 4G symbol at the top of your screen is gone.

When your Wi-Fi is on an showing it's indicator it's fully engaged.. At the same time it is you should see any Data indicators from the Network as Long as you Don't your not Using any of your Data Minutes.. You can Keep track of your Minutes by using the My Verizon on your Computer or Even your Phone.!

If you went from old phone to the Razr Maxx, without changing plan, you should still have unlimited data. I went from an LG Spectrum to the Maxx and retained my grandfathered unlimited data plan. Unless you changed plans, I would suggest calling customer service and ask what gives. When I went from my Droid 2 to the LG, they said that I too lost my unlimited data. One call to customer service fixed that. Also, when you are using wi-fi, there is no change on your data plan, except that wi-fi is so much slower that 4G. I'd give CS a call.

If the WIFI icon is blue, you are connected to a neaby router via WIFI and not using your Verizon data.  The 3G or 4G icon will be white.  When you are connected to the Verizon network and using your data plan, the 3G or 4G icon will be blue and the WIFI icon will disappear.
