Droid Razr M WIFI connection issue

Not applicable

I've been having numerous issues in the last month where my phone will not connect or even show our belkin router. I can be right next to it with no luck.  My phone is up to date and so is the router.  I have tried resetting both as well as clearing all the wifi networks on my phone (numerous times).  Please advise.

You've tried so many things already, camarojen. Can you pinpoint when this began? I'm also wanting to know if you have the most recent update on your phone.
Go to Settings>About Phone>Baseband version

Have you been able to connect to any other WiFi connections?

It won't let me reply in the community as it says that I'm not registered.  The baseboard version is

SM_BP_101032.020.32.78P.  I've been having this issue for the last month.  I can connect sometimes to other wifi's.  Sometimes I ask it to connect to a certain wifi and it won't.

I've tried that and it still doesn't work. I had to sign up under a different email address.  Verizon can you help on this issue with the wifi connection?

Hi camarojen1,

Let's get to the bottom of this! Have you recently downloaded any new applications? Please clarify, do you experience the issue with all wi-fi networks or only your home wi-fi connection? I look forward to hearing from you soon.

Thanks,

I have downloaded a couple but couldn't tell you which ones as this has

been going on for two months. It seems to happen at home and when I'm not

at home. One of my tech buddies I think may have figured it out. Our router

was pulling up two different times on my phone as one was a high def

signal. He made that connection so my phone won't see it and that seemed to

take care of it.

Dear camarojen1

I am sorry to hear you are experiencing difficulites with connecting to your wi-fi router. Does this happen with every wi-fi hotspot you try to connect too? If it only happeneds with your belkin router, please try resetting your router, then reset your phone and try to connnect. Please keep us updated if you are still experiencing difficulites.

Thank You,

A Droid will search and find nearby wireless connections (wifi).  These may be public (open) such as those you find at airports, in libraries, shopping centers, etc.  No password is needed.  Others are secured networks, most home wifi setups *should* be set with a password so only family members or those they share the password with are using the connection.

Depending on where you are, the 2 you see available are likely your neighbors (unless you have a router on your home internet connection that's broadcasting, but I would assume you would know that password) and you won't connect to them unless they give you their password.  If one of them IS your home wifi, then whoever set it up should have (or should have given you) the password to connect.

I'm having as similar issue with my Droid Razr Maxx HD. My home network, which I maintain, is not allowing me to connect via the phone. I've changed the name of the network and the password but I'm still having it bounce back saying that my password is incorrect but it is indeed accurate as..

A: I've attempted this on multiple devices

B: Changed everything two minutes ago myself

I noticed this happening two days ago, haven't downloaded any new apps, soft reset, rebooted, and turned it off and on with out any success.

I'm presently running VANQUISH_BP_100730.151.64.17P on my Baseband version and system version is 9.30.1XT926.Verizon.en.US

ANY suggestions would be VERY VERY helpful as I do not have unlimited data and use my phone frequently at the house.

Hello to you mmpeoples!

Congratulations on your new Razr M! I know you're going to absolutely adore it. Using Wifi when available is a great partner with your current data plan. Our friend Suzy Q here provided some excellent information regarding Wifi connections and how they work (thank you!).

If one of the Wifi connects belongs to you, most times you can find the default network key (password) on the label of your router. If it's been changed, you may want to work with the person who usually manages your home internet. You may also reach out to your internet service provider for your Wifi specific details.

Once you find the network password for your router, here is how you connect with your Razr M: http://vz.to/1fcMeQR

Thanks!

I have a Droid RazrM and it seems to constantly drop my home wifi connection. Mostly after the phone goes to sleep and I turn it back on.  I'll tun wifi off and on again and it will say that it didn't connect.!? If I shut the phone off and turn it back on it will then connect. Very aggravating. Any suggestions?

Let's make sure you stay connected gw53! I know I rely on my own home wifi; therefore, I understand the importance of a stable connection. Have you tested the device with more than one wifi connection? How long is the device in sleep mode before you notice the wifi connection? Do you power cycle the device each day manually? When did this first start?

We want to eliminate those issues cdoz04! Have you ever been able to establish a connection with wifi since you purchased the new device? Have you tested it in more than one wifi location?

My Razor Maxx HD has wi-fi problems that are easy to see, though the cause is not clear.  I have the software update from last month.  The last few days, the  phone's wi-fi turns itself off exactly 5 seconds after turning it on, so it doesn't have time to detect any wi-fi access points. The bluetooth does the same, which makes pairing impossible.  It behaves the same regardless of charging status.

In safe mode, the wi-fi and bluetooth work normally. That suggests that one of the downloaded/updated apps is to blame.  But is there a non-destructive way to figure out which one?  I just got this phone to about 80% of how I like it, after having to factory-reset it to mitigate the crashes from the version update, and would prefer not to go through another round of removing all the apps.
