Dropping Wifi after 4.1.2 update

I had no issues with my Droid Razr Maxx dropping wifi connections before the update. I use my work's wifi connection (to which I have no access to the router or anything like that) and I will connect to it and accept the user agreement, and half an hour later I'll look at my phone and the wifi indicator will be grayed out and it's prompting me to accept the wifi user agreement again, meaning it is not connected. I never had this problem before the update. I haven't gone out of service range - I've been sitting at my desk. I've tried forgetting the connection and adding it again - no dice. I've seen on this forum that if you replace your router or reset it, that might work, but I have a feeling if I went to the IT guy and told him that I need him to reset the entire router for my phone, he would laugh and point.
Any ideas?

Nothing has worked. Still can't connect to the wireless at work. No problem any where else. Just have to wait for a fix.

Same here. Internet provider sent replacement software with newer firmware. Did not solve problem. Verizon has booted me to Motorola for support. I am now waiting for Level 3 Motorola to call me. Level 2 Motorola can only say my router is not on the unsupported list.

I'm having the same issue with constantly dropping/reconnecting wifi. I noticed that if I set my router (Dlink 605L) to use g/b only, then it works. But I just bought this router for the extended range of wireless-N!

As an update. My internet provider replaced the router with same model but newer firmware. This did not fix the problem. Motorola level 3 support says that the Engineering department is working on issue. I asked if they could send me a router that would work with the phone since my router does not. They cannot because they don't know what routers will work with the phone after the update, but hope to know soon. Nor would they commit to sending me a replacement router (if they find one that will work) as "that program has been discontinued." Nor could they commit to name a replacement device that would work with the router since "numerous" devices are having an issue after the update.

Talked with tech suppot, and yes WiFi and battery are issues. He said its up to Motorola to fix this, since they are the ones who perform the update on Android once they receive the shell version of any Android OS and tweak to their own settings.
My WiFi on the other hand was solved with 1 click of the mouse. NetGear plugin extender. Placed in the hallway and viola! Full WiFi bars.

Take this in the humor I intend. "you have been cow pattied" Motorola does make the phones and supplies the phones operating systems, but they release it to "Verizon Wireless" to test before its sent out Over The Air to Verizons customers.
In this testing which took forever to release to their customers longer than any other cell provider, you really believe Verizon did not encounter the wifi or battery drain or loss of 4G issues that are affecting a small percentage of owners of this device and numerous other android devices.
Did you read any complaints from T-Mobile, Sprint or AT&T owners of android devices? I have not read complaints from them but mostly Verizons OTA update to Jelly Bean. My lord just wait for the "Key Lime Pie"

Wait a minute? You're saying that the cell manufacturers do NOT get the Android OS and tweak it to their own needs and specifics? And the carrier doesn't have any say in what they want on specific devices?
As for no problems on other networks:

Face it...Any update we get, whether its for our phones, or even some video games, there's going to be bugs that companies didn't find or they happen that often with so few testers. It's not until you have a few thousand phones or consoles using the update, that you truly find your issues. But to say that Motorola doesn't make their phones or adapt an open source OS to their needs is like saying that Ford doesn't make their cars or their motors.

Now I said Motorola made the phones, and supplied the OS and then it went to Verizon for testing and other sinister doings and then Verizon released it. True soak test would have been numerous cell phones and connecting devices. But the percentage of folks with issues is small in the number of devices out there.
The links are great, but not a lot of complaints. which is what I am stating.

My Razor was frequently doing the same thing ... would connect on occasion though. I updated the firmware in my router and haven't had a problem since. Hope this helps.

Its up to Motorola to fix it? That is pretty terrible customer service by Verizon. I was sold the phone by a Verizon rep and am experiencing the same problems as everyone else. Seems logical that since Verizon is a large distributor of these Motorola products they could put the most pressure on the manufacturer to remedy the situation. What kind of a response is "Up to Motorola to fix it"? If there is a clearer case of passing the buck I can't think of one.
In other forums I have read that this could be router related but I am using a fairly new WD MyNet750 HD router.
There is clearly a problem and it would appear Verizon is not providing any answers in any forum including this one. Shameful.

I am haivng the same issue with the wifi, I have a new router at home and it is working for all my devices except the Samsung galaxy S3. However before this latest update it was working fine with my router. It is also happening while I am at work, it connected fine last week but since the upgrade it is continuously dropping from the work one too.
Two different networks causing the same trouble, I am thinking it is the phone. I now can not use it as it is always using data. I never hardly used data with the phone until the upgrade last week. Can we get some help on this matter.
Thanks.

This is a real head scratcher, debster863. I use the S3 and have not seen these problems after the update. Sometimes after a software update it becomes necessary to complete a master reset. I know this can be a painful somewhat time consuming issue, but it's very effective. Please give it a try and let me know if it works...http://tinyurl.com/n29ykn2

Good day, jbynh
Thanks for reaching out to us today. I understand how important it is to stay connected to wi-fi when you are in a wi-fi area. Let's get to work on this and get this working ASAP. How long have you been having this issue? Is this your home wi-fi? Or do you have this problem no matter what wi-fi you connect to? Let's try to power off the router and remove router from phone and reconnect and see if the issue is resolved? http://vz.to/1mHU495 Please keep us posted.

Hi Have the same problem....I've tried all the above mentioned fixes nothing works. The issue is in the 4.1.2 update. We really need the Kit Kat update to solve the issue. When will the happen?

I am facing the intermittent disconnect from WiFi as well. From what I have heard, I highly doubt it if the Razor Maxx is getting the update.

I have the Droid Razr HD....It work perfectly until I got the update to 4.1.2, since then the wifi has been a continuous issue. I have looked at every forum possible. And, I've tried everything....it is really frustrating. It seems I either have to buy a new router or a new phone because of an update. No one at Verizon has offer any type of exchanges or fix.

Yes it is! I have been a customer of Verizon over 10 years, I've never had a problem, until now. This is a really big problem for some of us!!! Something should be done. I have honestly done every fix possible and nothing works. I'm really at wits end with this!
