How do you get email addresses in your phone book to pop up with the phone contacts when sending pics to email and phone contacts? It used to on Revolution and fascinate but now just shows all my phone contacts and not people with email addresses
Is this for the text message app?

Stock phone apps, when I click on picture to share and pick text message on the Razr it brings up phone contacts with just phone numbers and no email addresses where my Revolution and Fascinate would bring up both and I would send pic message to some phones along with some email addresses.

bulldog, if I understand correctly, the issue is that if you pick "text message" the Razr is only going to show you contacts phone numbers because that's how text messages are sent - to phone numbers. But if you pick the email icon, you will get contacts with email addresses because that's how those messages are sent.
If my understanding of your problem is correct, I think that functionality is a software design constraint so that you don't select a contact that is not able to receive the type of message (text or email) you are sending.
Sally I forgot to mention I am using the Go msm pro app now and it is one that brings up phone book but not with email addresses like my phone book is. The stock phone app doesn't even do that, when I want to message especially send pics to multiple phones and email addresses it comes up with blank box where I have to start typing a name to bring up contacts with the first letters so that really is bad. When sending pics with my old Revolution or Fascinate I would click messaging and my complete phone book would pop up and I could check the ones I wanted phones and or email addresses. It is so hard to write what I'm trying to say but maybe you will understand this one? I hope. Thanks

I use Go SMS Pro too and I don't see any way to make it do what you want - bring up the contacts so you you can just check the ones you want.
However, I also use Go Contacts EX and I do see what you want in there. You can assign your contacts to groups (eg Friends, All, etc.) and then when you select that group you can go to Menu> SMS All or Email All. Then you get a list where you can select or deselect members within that group. I have defined my groups in my Google Contacts and it uses them.
Would that work for you?
Sally I will look up that one. I only use regular contacts and not my google account. I hope I can do as before and click on ones I want to send to because group is not good all the time because I dont send to same people everytime but I amd going to check out Go contacts EX. If you have something else to ad please let me know and thanks for helping me. I like phone except for this problem so I will try what is recommended by you and others
I hope that's helpful. Btw, if you have all your Contacts in a group called All, then you don't need to worry about having them in individual groups to do what you want. That would just make it easier if there's certain groups you usually send certain things. And I don't believe you have to use Google Contacts, it's just that's what I use so I tied it into that.

I'm not sure I understand what you mean by "thats just contacts which I have." Isn't what you want to do is be able to access your contacts and then send text or emails to them by checking the ones you want to include? I'm not understanding the problem, I'm afraid.
Sall I'm sorry it's so hard to explain writing it out but I will try again. Ok lets say I go to messaging and select picture I want to send to say 3 email addresses and to 2 phones, now I click on contacts and my phone book pops up with contacts phone numbers where I can check the ones I want but whats missing are the contacts with email addresses, the phone numbers are there but no email. Now back to doing nothing, I click on phone to make a call or contacts and my address book pops up and I have all my phone numbers plus all my email addresses of the people in my book. Why doesn't it work like that when I want to send pics or messages to both?Revolution and Fascinate did. Do you know now Sally what I mean? wish I could talk to someone on phone or in person, did both on phone and in the store with Verizon and they dont know what to do other than guy on phone says use Go SMS Pro and that dont work..

Okay, I think I get it now. The issue is that you want to both text and email at the same time. SMS and email are different functions and require different applications - at least on the Razr or on my computer. I don't know about Revolution or Fascinate. So if I start with selecting an image from My Gallery and choose Share I must pick either email or text. And if I start from Go Contacts and want to Share I must also pick either email or text.. I don't know of a way you could say that you want to Share, just select the Contacts and then have something figure out if you want to use their email address or SMS via their phone number to accomplish the sharing.
Sorry. Maybe someone knows of a way and will chime in. But I am not familiar with any app that will do that.
Sally no I always send pics by message to both phone contacts and email addresses not send email. I click on pic and then share and pic messaging and then I bring up contacts and on other phones I have complete phone book with phone numbers and email addresses and I send to both. You might want to check the settings in the stock text message application. There could be a settings limiting the application from displaying or accessing contact information beyond the phone numbers.

Or any other text message application might also have an option to show just the phone number and hide the email addresses.

Well Ann on stock it wont even display the phone book. Went into VZW and salesman had same phone and didn't know how to change it. He said he didn't do much messaging or pics so he couldn't help. What about Handcent app do you know anything about that one. I have seen you help way back when I had Fascinate so I know you come up with the right solution most times.
probably you have already done this, but I use the Display Option that says "only display contacts that have phone numbers and this makes it a lot easier. I also uncheck Phone-only, unsynced..........but then I use Google and Backup Assistant+

I also use GO SMS PRO. Previously I used Chomp and it had the same problem!
With my phone's 'stock' text messaging, when I started typing a contact's name - all of their phone numbers AND email addresses would come up.
Now, only the phone numbers show. Sometimes I like to send pics (or notes) to my email but when I start typing in my own contact name, it only comes up with my mobile number. Very frustrating
I would say it's because the way the Vender has the app set up. In the Setting Menu there might be a Setting that allows for more Contacts to Pop up but i don't use this app as i use the Stock one. But that were i would Look..b33
Have you tried Handcent SMS from Play Store? I use it and it should do what you want.
