I purchased my Droid Maxx yesterday and am having problems with the facebook pics showing up on my contact list. I have synced facebook successfully. When I go to contacts and choose which contacts to display, the facebook contact list is empty???? Any suggestions???

Great choice mcx3rbm! Lets make sure your sync is turned-on. Click on the menu button for the phone, not the menu button for Facebook. Click on the Settings button. Click on Sync Photos. Click on sync my photos & contacts. Back out of there and go to Contacts to see if photos appear. You may need to go into individual contacts in your address book to remove the pictures if they all sync.
Here is how to link the contacts:

Hi Lena, I'm having the same issue as the original poster, and I'm having trouble following your solution. The Droid Maxx doesn't have a menu button, so I'm not sure where to access the Sync Photos option.
I did go into the phone settings and clicked Facebook under the Accounts heading. The option to sync contacts is checked and has been synced recently. However, it doesn't seem to be working. I went to People, Settings, Contacts to display, Facebook, and no contacts show up. The phone says it has synced contacts, but it doesn't look like Facebook contacts are actually synced.
Please advise how to fix this issue.

The menu button is the three vertical dots on the screen often in the header of the app. It is called the overflow menu when it is displayed as the three vertical dots. The full online user manual should have discussed it.
I'm most definitely NOT a VZW employee. If a post answered your question, please mark it as the answer.

Thank you for your response, Ann. I realize the menu button is typically three vertical dots, but Lena mentioned in her solution to "Click on the menu button for the phone, not the menu button for Facebook." I'm not sure which menu button she's referring to. I've tried every menu button I can find that may be related to this issue, but I can't seem to find an option for me to "Sync Photos."

Thanks for going through those steps,BlueGator.
Are you using the Facebook app that came preinstalled on the phone?
Can you go to People>Menu>Contacts to Display>Facebook (is that selected).

I do not believe the Facebook app was preinstalled. I seem to remember installing it myself, and it shows up under downloaded apps if I go to the apps menu in the phone's settings. If I go to Contacts to Display, I have All Contacts selected. If I select just Facebook contacts, then the list is empty.

Hi BlueGator,
Oh my, I know having the correct contacts listed is important! Please uninstall the Facebook application from the device. Then reinstall the application back to the device. Once reinstalled, during the setup Facebook will ask would you like your contacts synced to the device? Please select yes, and the contact sync will occur.
Thanks,

Hi G1hopper,
Great info! Are you downloading the Facebook application from the google play store? If not, try adding Facebook as an account under settings>accounts>add accounts, to see if this will allow your contacts to sync. If this is not an option, you would need reach out to Facebook support to see why the application is not syncing http://on.fb.me/ifjosv. Thanks for your patience and understanding.
Thanks,

When the Facebook App is installed it does not ask you to sync. You have to go into the Accounts area and tell it to sync. Even after doing so (and clearing cache and data) my almost 1500 Contacts are still not showing up on my phone. This is a huge issue. And since users are all seeing the same problem and it was duplicated in a store with a sample phone, can we just agree that it is a bug and get to fixing it?? Its been a problem for over a month now. This is a HUGE issue for me and installing another app to fix it it not a viable solution in my opinion. HELP!

We want you to fully enjoy all of your apps on your Droid Maxx Carolyn! Have you tried uninstalling the Facebook app and readding it? It should ask you if you want to sync your contacts at that point. In addition, you can also try using the merge feature from the contacts app itself.
•
From a home screen, select People (located at the bottom).
If unavailable, navigate: Apps
> People
.
•
From the All contacts tab (located at the top), select a contact.
•
Select Menu
•
Select Edit.
•
Select Menu
•
Select Join or Separate.
If the device is functioning well with all the other functions and apps, please be aware this may be specifically linked to Facebook, in which case our control is limited.

Hi Lena,
I am also having the same problem with my new Droid Maxx. I have added new FB contacts since I got the phone and they are not coming over at all. The Sync Now goes through the motions with success, but no data is coming over.

Hi Rodney_1218,
Oh no! I know how important it is to have your Facebook contacts on your device. I am going to recommend the same steps. Please uninstall your Facebook application from your device, then reinstall the application back to the phone. Upon setup, you will be prompted to sync your Facebook application with your device.
Thanks,
PamelaF_VZW

Hi Sroutte,
Whew! I am so excited to hear that you Facebook contacts are now syncing using a third-party application. Have you reach out to Facebook support in regards to the application not syncing properly http://on.fb.me/ifjosv? Keep me posted.
Thanks,

PamelaF,
I did check with FB and they do not have an answer. With additional research, it appears to be a problem with FB and Android 4.2.2. In addition, the current version of FB does not appear to have the option of syncing people on your phone OR all FB contacts. It only has an option for all FB contacts which I don't have interest in. The Sync.Me application is working great. It brings down HD quality profile pics in addition to contact info from FB and LinkedIn, even if the person is NOT a friend on FB or contact on LinkedIn. In a weird way, I am glad I had this problem that led me to find Sync.Me.
Thanks for responding to my question.

So this is an issue I tried to solve by going through Motorola and was not able to. I went to a Verizon store and had no luck there either. The tech and i went to a floor model and had the same results. The phone is just not importing any contacts from the Facebook application. It is really annoying! I think that Facebook needs to make the fix on their end with the application. I have also uninstalled and reinstalled the application at least 5 times with the same result. Verizon guys. Contact Facebook and have this fixed. This is a huge pain in the behind! Thank you.
