Finally a hotspot problem

First few days everything was blissfull in hotspot land then it fell apart. Everytime i turned hotspot on my laptop only detected it maybe 2 out of 10 times. When it does connect it is lightning fast until the exclamation point comes up on my laptop saying limited access or no internet access. Done a hard reset myself  verizon store done one same results. Tethering seems to work ok so far. I contacted motorolla and they said send it to them for repair. Its only been aweek plus 1 since i got it right and shiny. So anyone know the fix or is the fix to return it for another?   Actually hotspot was a major selling point for me.. Not so pointy anymore...   Thanks     Jesse

Could be the encryption level. Try setting to open to see if you have the same issues, and watch it to make sure no one else logs in. you might nee to go down to a wep instead of wpa2 depending on the age of your computer

Thanks for the advice but unfortunately no change. I The only solution to get oit back working i found is to delete the razr from the connections list and reboot the phone then turn the hotspot on and it will connect. Maybe for an hour maybe for a few minutes. Ive contacted motorola and they saidto send it in for repair but im still in my 14 day window. i really like this phone so i think ill let them exchange it from verizon which was already approved through customer service . The lady at customer service that i talked suprisingly seemed generally concerned about resolving my issue.. we will see.   Anymore thoughts anyone?     Jesse

Are you using a specific channel for the hotspot or letting it "auto" pick a channel.  Try changing it to one channel and see if that helps.

I'm most definitely NOT a VZW employee. If a post answered your question, please mark it as the answer.
