HELP,
I've searched everywhere yet I'm sure it's right under my nose! I like the program and don't want to switch yet I'm sick of the "erectile dysfunction" tests etc!
Thanks in advance

Thank you for reaching out to us today. We are sorry to read that you are getting spam text messages. I know firsthand how quickly they can become a nuisance. On our messaging application there will not be a setting to block messages. Instead what you have to do is block the number from your phone settings. What device are you using? Also what you can do is forward the messages you are receiving to 7726(SPAM) and this way the messages are flagged and stopped.

I always spammer block numbers, but the spammers then just switch numbers and resend their unwanted, unsolicited messages. It would be really nice to have an option to block messages based on message content such as a word or phrase that is often repeated in the text messages. I had this capability when I was with Sprint. My phone is a Moto 7.

Why is there not a way to block numbers from the app? Seems like that should be a standard feature and is really annoying especially if that number is not already in my phone. The only way I've found is to call the number and then block it. You need to add this feature. Seems like a no brainier.

Pvnut, receiving unwanted and unsolicited text messages, emails, and calls can be quite annoying, and we apologize for your inconvenience. The good news is that Verizon offers several blocking options to assist you. Check them out on our website at http://spr.ly/66021WjIy. I'm confident that this information will be helpful to you.- RobertC_VZW

There is no forward capability in Message Plus where you can enter 7726. It comes up with 1 and you cannot enter any other numbers. Also the copy paste function doesn't work to copy into another text to send to that number. I have to send a separate text to 7726 and enter the number but no the spam text itself. The solution at the local verizon store was to get a new phone number. But she couldn't guarantee that that new number would not experience the same thing.

We understand the importance of stopping spam messages as fast as possible. Please tap and hold on the message received and select mark as spam from the drop down menu. Additional information in the link below.

I just tried the suggestion to forward spam messages to 7726(SPAM). You texted me back asking me to provide the number.
This is pretty ridiculous. We're not asking you for much. It's pretty basic customer service to allow the people who pay you hundreds of dollars per month to choose to block a number.

We always want to see you have the best experience with us. We will use your feedback to continue improving the products we offer. The application will allow you to stop notifications from certain contacts but not block the number completely. What model is your phone as we can review any possible block options through the Contacts of the device? YaleK_VZW

Can't do it from Message+. However, switch to the Google Messages app, (temporarily set as default) open to the offending message, click on the 3 dots, and select "report spam". Verizon, if you're reading this, please add this feature to Message+.

Unwanted calls and texts are frustrating. Thank you for the feedback, Orf411, and the suggestion for Google Messages. One additional suggestion if to use our free call and message blocking feature: https://www.verizonwireless.com/support/knowledge-base-200867/

I would use your free call and message blocking if it allowed me to block an infinite amount of numbers. Your list is like 5 and they are not permanent.

@Nuro ,
It's great to know that you've checked out some of our blocking options, but the 5 numbers that we will block for 90 days is not the only option. Your own device can block hundreds of numbers already, while our Call Filter and Smart Family programs offer blocking services among many other features: https://www.verizonwireless.com/support/block-numbers/ . The free version of Call Filter will let you block spam calls automatically, but specific numbers (if you did not want to use the device's block options) can be blocked using Call Filter Plus.

Kind of sounds like Verizon doesn't really care about spam unless it's to sell us a subcription-based product.

Mkolber, as a valued customer, your account concerns are our concerns too. Receiving unwanted/unsolicited text messages to your mobile number can be quite annoying and we apologize for your inconvenience. The good news is that Verizon has available options in place to help you avoid receiving unwanted text messages (e.g. from Message +, etc.), calls, and emails. You can review more information about these options at http://spr.ly/66051ewhd. We're confident that this information will be helpful to you. - RobertC_VZW

For what it's worth, the link you sent for blocking messages states "You can block calls and messages from up to 5 numbers in My Verizon for no charge. These blocks will expire after 90 days." If that's not the case, Verizon should clarify.
There's no reason that your customers should be forced to spend their time figuring out how your complicated blocking process works.
The solution is obvious and simple: Add a "Block" option to the three dots menu.
I want to block numbers fairly often (your spam filters are mediocre at best), but I've never wanted to customize, schedule a new message, or send an invite. Why are these cutesy, infrequently useful options available but BLOCK isn't? Does that really make sense to you?

Okay, but the problem with that is you have to type in the numbers by hand in order to block them. You should have an option available in message+ that allows us to just block them right then and there.

@altoflyer It's important to us that you know what options you have for reporting any spam text messages. You can forward spam texts to 7726 (SPAM) to help identify and prevent future occurrences.

My phone will not forward to SPAM. It is looking for a 10 digit number.
