How to get past activation screen without having a plan on it?

I work for a store that sold the Moto G Play. My sister and I have been looking for smartphones and we ended up buying it due to it being the cheapest one in stock. We bought to give to a 7 year old as a play phone. When I say play phone, where he would just use it on wifi to watch YouTube, download games. When we turn it on and begin to set it up, the phone tries to get us to pay for a plan that has calling and data which is what we don't want. We would love to active it without a plan as it was just bought to be played games using wifi

I've had the same problem and there's no option to access Wi-Fi after selecting my language and clicking start it takes me to screen where it tells me to add a Sim so I put a Verizon sim into the phone and it is still not working there is no option to skip it

Hello I'm having this problem with a moto e prepaid phone and just want to use it with wifi but there is no option just to enter Sim for activation just shows.

Same here. Verizon is a punch of IDOTS. I just want to use my old phone on my home WIFI to surf the web and to use as a camera. Can not get past the activation screen. We should sue Verizon for an item I purchased that they have locked. SUE Verizon.

I bought 2 moto g play phones for my kids to use on the wifi only. I cannot afford a plan right now for 2 phones. It has a don’t activate button but it doesn’t let me do anything after clicking it. What can be done? I want my kids to be able to play on the phones.

I have the same issue with a Moto G Play 2024 XT2413. There's no obvious way to bypass the activation screen. I only need this phone for development. Is there any way to use the phone without activation?
