I bought a Droid MAXX on ebay that was said to be unlocked...

I bought a Droid MAXX on ebay that was said to be unlocked. It appears to be unlocked, however, it seems that it may still be under someones account and "held hostage" due to the former owner not paying their bill. Now that I own the phone, is there a way to get this phone to work or am I stuck with a non working device?

Hi jasonbrim!

I'm sorry to learn that you received a device that is locked due tot he previous owner having a balance due. Unfortunately, that device cannot be activated on a line of service unless the balance is paid on the previous account. I'm afraid you would have to contact the seller in order to get this taken care of.
