Insurance issue?

So about 5 months ago i started a new contract with verizon and i got the droid razr. I love love love this phone but i dropped it and cracked the screen, it also has charging issues and now it wont turn on at all.
I set up insurance on the phone when i bought it but i have never seen it taken out of my account. I remember them having issues with setting it up on my mastercard, so i had them set it up on a card that I dont always have funds in, but had funds in there when i got my phone set up. Ive searched through my bank history and i havent seen anything coming out from the phone insurance company. So I guess what my question is, was it not even set up? And since ive had the phone for a few months now, and I going to be stuck with a damaged phone because they did not set up my insurance properly and or did not inform me they were having issues getting funds from my account? Has anyone else had a similiar problem? I'm kind of freaked out that they wont let me put insurance on an already damaged phone that ive had for however many months...

You're freaked out that they won't let you buy insurance for something that's already broken, really?
It's up to the consumer to be sure something like insurance is properly set up and being billed. Used to be that you could set up insurance, wait 30 days then make a claim for damage - even though there are some morals issues with that - IMHO.
I suppose if you were nice, very contrite, begged and pleaded they might take care of you.

Maybe you should read the question over again, Sir. I went in to Verizon and they looked up my receipt and sure enough, I did request insurance and somehow it didn't go through. I even talked to corporate and they told me it's policy for them to offer me insurance through Verizon and have it come out of my bill and this franchise didn't offer this to me. So after many frustrating phone calls, I got this resolved. I know how important insurance is and that's why I wanted it in the first place. People like you have to turn any question on the internet into an argument. I was just asking if this had happened to anyone else and how they remedied the situation because I was having a hard time getting the help I needed.

Sam the Way i'd say Smash Looked at it was odd, i kind of did myself but held off commit on it) it's Good that you got it Resolved with closure. On these devices the Cost of them it's almost a Must to Have it) I have never had the issue of wanting it and not getting it because of a Technicality but there's always a First i Guess.. But over the 20 some years of having Phones From Kansas Cellular, Alltel an Now Verizon Me an my Folks have never been with out Insurance on our Devices..b33

You got the insurance thru someone else other than Assurion(thru Verizon)? Normally, insurance from Assurion is right on your phone bill.

Good point rcschnoor - I was so dumbfounded that they were freaked out about not being able to insure it after it was broken that I missed that connection.

well the hell with this insurance scam. I have insurance on my phone. I have the OMNIA windows phone. I have been very happy with it and have had it for almost four years now. I dropped it the other day and this time it finally messed up the screen. So hey i can get it replaced, i call to make a claim, and i am told that they can't replace it or repair it. My only solution is they can send me a droid. If i wanted an effin droid i would have bought one. i have been waiting patienly fot the new windows phone. They said there hasn't been a replacement for over two years. I asked for a refund for my insurance premiums since they were charging me for a service they couldn't provide, they said they can't do that. blah blah blah. I see a class action lawsuit in the making... HOW MANY PEOPLE HAVE THEY BEEN CHARGING FOR A SERVICE THEY CANNOT PROVIDE

Now that you Mentioned that Smash i haven't seen those Donate boxes there any More wonder what there doing with those phones Now. i know you can Trade off your Devices as of a month ago or So but heck they may have changed that as Well..
