Issue with attachments on emails

Trying to help my sister-in-law with her new phone.  If she opens an attachment to an email on her phone, the attachment does not come thru when she opens the email on her computer.  What do we need to do to fix this????

What email provider do you use? (Roadrunner, gmail, etc) and is there any text where the attachment should be? Is it setup to delete the message on the server once it is read on the phone?

Her work email is roadrunner.  The text all comes through to her computer but not the attachment.  It is not set up to delete the message once read on the phone.

And if she does not touch the attachment on her phone, she can see it fine in her email program? What email client does she use to read email?

we just tested and she can see it on her phone.  We did not touch the email on her phone this time.  she can also now see the attachment on her computer.  Her computer email is Windows Live Mail.  So it appears to be a setting in the phone I think.

If you view it on the phone, what happens when you look at the email through the web? webmail.roadrunner.com is the site.

We went out to the webmail now.  They messages are all gone.  But they were there this morning she said.  I am wondering if once they open their computer and it pulls the emails in to Windows Live Mail, it must remove them from their web inbox.  I don't know enough about these emails to know for sure.

That is exactly what is happening  Here's what you do, shut down the Live Mail program, and send the account another email with an attachment, and then go out on the web and see if it is there.

I forgot to say - After you send the email, check it on your phone and read it along with the attachment, and then go to the webmail and see if it is there and if you can see both the text and the attachment.

Okay - I can see the email on her phone and read the attachment.  I can also see the email in webmail and read the attachment.  So now are we down to the issue is with Windows Live Mail???

That would be my quess. You can see it on both the phone and on RoadRunner all the way until Live Mail downloads it.

This is nuts.  The email shows up in Live Mail and the attachment is there.  So we are still wondering if it is a problem with the phone as what really happened was emails that she had opened up on the phone first.  So I am going to test that.  Open an email and attachment on the phone first.  Then try webmail.  Then try Live Mail.

We recreated what happened this morning and the attachment was viewable on her phone, it showed up in Live Mail, and it showed up in webmail.  So now I am totally confused!!!

Okay - we shut down the Windows Live Email and I sent a new email.  It shows up in the webmail with the attachment.  So that appears to be working.  We did not do anything on the phone with this email.
