Jelly Bean for Motorola RAZR Maxx?

When will Jelly Bean be ready for my RAZR Maxx?....

Oh..., that's right.. I'm still WAITING for a scoop of Ice Cream Sandwich.... *SIGH*

I've come to the conclusion that this whole ICS things is a humorous attempt to see how many of us clowns will push that button that that says

"System Updates"

only to be disappointed by the infamous:

Your device is up to date!

No update is necessary at this time.

*Sigh*

The message box should say:

Your device is up to date!

You'll get the update when we are good and ready!

We could communicate with you guys a bit better than this but why do that? We've a pool going to see how many taps of the "System Updates" button will occur before we really make ICS available to all you clowns out there !

I just hope the roll out of Jelly Bean to these devices has better PR than the debacle of this way ICS is being handled.

What? we won't get Jelly Bean on our Razr Maxx's? is that what I think I heard?....

I doubt seriously we will get Jelly Bean for the Maxx. They won't update because they'll want you to buy another handset.. both VZW and Motorola...

Google is now working with developers so that we don't have to wait for the update anymore. Though that part about buying another handset may be true... they are very greedy! haha

I know... I had the Fascinate before, and when we were waiting for the Froyo update, people were also complaining that we would never get GB because of how long it took just to roll out Froyo.

IMHO, The RAZR's should get it because it is in that 18 month window of the phone, unless there is hardware requirements for Jelly Bean that the RAZR's do not meet.

Why would you be waiting for a "scoop" of Ice Cream Sandwich? I get what you were trying to say, but, it is a sandwich. You don't eat it or buy it in scoops. As for Jelly Bean, there is as possibility that the MAXX will get an OTA update in the future and there is a possibility that it won't. But either way, there will be Jelly Bean on the MAXX. It may be through ways that void the warranty, but it will be possible.

Why is That Spurs The Droid X went threw 4 updates in it's Cycle and not to Long ago it got updated with a Maintenance update.. it's true it won't get a Abundance of them but it will have Jelly beam some were down the Line..

The Droid X was shipped with eclair and then got Froyo and then GB. So i think that the Razr and the Maxx will both get JB but i won't care either way cause i will probably have a new phone/tablet/phablet by then anyway.

Anyone know any updated info on this? I know the Razr HD and MAxx HD are getting them now. I want to know if the original razr and Maxx (XT912) will be getting jelly bean before I decide to do it myself.

Where did you hear that? link??? The last I heard was by the end of 2012. but that may have been for the HD versions.

yes, HD versions were announced ... Razr/Razr Maxx haven't been announced yet (I provided a link to the Motorola site in your other post so you can check the release dates)

Yes, it will be before 2013 and I believe it:

The 4.1 update should hit before the end of year, kinda hard to push update after update, we got ICS back in june i think, so JB wouldnt make sense to hit the phones that fast. A bit upset that new RazR HD and MAxx HD got it first. I actually emailed Moto with a complaint on why the wait tonight. I assume JB will come with a battery life fix, since ICS battery life has not been as good when in comparison to GB.

It is not Motorola, it is all Verizon. Verizon Is so big they don't care about us. After spending 300 in April for the Razr Maxx and Verizon updates a phone they released 6 weeks ago. What a slap in the face. I am also tech savvy and there is no reason that we have not had the JB update other then their complete and total greed. They want to push people into the HD and that sucks.

Mine failed to load and while it is still 4.0.4, it says it is up to date.. Thoughts anyone?

same here..i got a notification of a new update, i accepted the update but it failed. when i go back to check for updates, it tells me that my phone is up to date and that there are no more updates.

Unfortunately the process com.motorola.vzw.vmm has stopped

That was yesterday, and no errors since.

Phone seems to be running fine, no other errors no issue, no problems

Did a google search on the error and did not find anything?

Since you Gave a Screen which is good that shows some clues to the new soft wear but if you could add a snap shot of the Build No Which is About Phone That Would help as Well...

I downloaded the Motorola Launcher for the Razr M and it works great! So, I guess that's why I have more real-estate.

I just downloaded the update from the XDA website, i dont have a micro sd card, is it possible to drop the file in my dropbox and open the update from there.

Can someone tell me if it is possible to go back to ICS if I want to try out the new JB update that has been discussed? I've read that some people love it, and others are not happy with it because it feels like it isn't a finished product. I'd like to see for myself but don't want to be stuck on it if I don't like it.

Once the OS is downloaded you can't go back to the previous = meaning once you download Jelly Bean you can't revert back to ICS...

I was caught up in the Jelly Bean update, then not an update. My Maxx was updated. Since then, I am VERY unhappy with it. Freezes up, battery that was excellent is now noticeably less and the list goes on. In googling the update, I saw where several people who were also unhappy were taking their phones to VZ for a replacement (getting them back to ICS since you can revert once you have JB).

Anyone know of this replacement offer being true? First time here in the community so wasn't real sure who/where to ask. At this point, I would even take a refurb'd MAXX tho a new MAXX HD would be nicer. LOL

These are the same symptoms I have had since I turned on the phone. They have been a little less severe since ICS, but they still occur. Had to do a factory reset once, and have to reboot the thing much more often than makes sense for a device that costs $$$ to purchase and operate. Too bad. I just got a Samsung for my spouse - we'll see if it is any better, or if it is just over-hype in the industry generally, not just Motorola.

At this time, I have learned there are too many problems with compatibility. Jelly Bean is not compatible with Verizon apps. Talk about frustration, when it does come out, I want it to work with my voice mail and backup apps.

I was one of those that received jelly bean on Christmas eve. I have had no problems with my phone since then. I am able to access all my apps including Verizon apps. I am not sure where you are getting this information or why others may be having problems but it is not true for all RAZR Maxx Jelly Bean users.
