Jelly Bean for Motorola RAZR Maxx?

When will Jelly Bean be ready for my RAZR Maxx?....

Oh..., that's right.. I'm still WAITING for a scoop of Ice Cream Sandwich.... *SIGH*

I've come to the conclusion that this whole ICS things is a humorous attempt to see how many of us clowns will push that button that that says

"System Updates"

only to be disappointed by the infamous:

Your device is up to date!

No update is necessary at this time.

*Sigh*

The message box should say:

Your device is up to date!

You'll get the update when we are good and ready!

We could communicate with you guys a bit better than this but why do that? We've a pool going to see how many taps of the "System Updates" button will occur before we really make ICS available to all you clowns out there !

I just hope the roll out of Jelly Bean to these devices has better PR than the debacle of this way ICS is being handled.

What?  we won't get Jelly Bean on our Razr Maxx's?  is that what I think I heard?....

I doubt seriously we will get Jelly Bean for the Maxx. They won't update because they'll want you to buy another handset.. both VZW and Motorola...

Google is now working with developers so that we don't have to wait for the update anymore. Though that part about buying another handset may be true... they are very greedy! haha

  I know... I had the Fascinate before, and when we were waiting for the Froyo update, people were also complaining that we would never get GB because of how long it took just to roll out Froyo.

IMHO, The RAZR's should get it because it is in that 18 month window of the phone, unless there is hardware requirements for Jelly Bean that the RAZR's do not meet.

Hardware wise the razr and the Maxx meet specs, and Google has been hard at work to make JB a lean mean OS, whether MOTO deploys it is another story, since MOTO is working on the next gen Razr (Razr HD or Droid Fighter), when I talked to a buddy at MOTO he said they were playing around with 3 processors including at least one being quad core and a HD screen and possible a larger battery than the MAXX, I suspect MOTO will release those with JB then send out updates to Razr users.  But I could be wrong the tech industry always surprises me

I doubt JB will ever be on the maxx, by the time a release is ready a new device will come out

That's Not stop it from getting it  Common  Just because new phones are issued there not going to stop forward progress on the Razr or Maxx. The thunder bolt is over a Year old and it got updated to ICS so the Maxx has a Few to come to it..

Thunderbolt is from HTC and HTC has been good with opening bootloader, faster upgrades and dedication to even older devices.

  Yes, and no. Mine is working great, and I have no complaints. If I get it, fine. If not, then I would not be ticked off like others in the community. I do know that Motorola lists it as getting JB in 2013, so I am confident that it will, I am just not holding my breath and bugging people about "When"....

I know what you mean ... the update will arrive when it arrives.  My phone is running just fine with ICS and I have no complaints.  My post was mainly teasing B33 about his Maxx that is still running GB.

He was keeping one phone on GB to help folks with issues/troubleshooting, but now that (I'm assuming) most folks are on ICS, I agree that it's time lets 'Ginger' experience some dessert and move on to ICS.

Why is That Spurs The Droid X went threw 4 updates in it's Cycle and not to Long ago it got updated with a Maintenance update.. it's true it won't get a Abundance of them but it will have Jelly beam some were down the Line..

Why would you be waiting for a "scoop" of Ice Cream Sandwich? I get what you were trying to say, but, it is a sandwich. You don't eat it or buy it in scoops. As for Jelly Bean, there is as possibility that the MAXX will get an OTA update in the future and there is a possibility that it won't. But either way, there will be Jelly Bean on the MAXX. It may be through ways that void the warranty, but it will be possible.
