I've my my Razr since November'ish, the past week I've had nothing but trouble! Here are the problems, anyone else having these issues?
Some text messages will say 'unable to send' but the person gets them anyway? Sometimes they don't.
My battery, over the course of 3 nights the battery has charged at night, BUT when I wake in the morning, the battery has discharged! Say Monday night, and Wednesday it did this, but Tuesday night same charger and everything and it charged the phone.
My bars have to be 3G or 4G and in blue to have any data connection. They rarely leave white, which also means it's tough has heck to make a phone call!
I called my mother last night 8 times, before her phone finally rang!!! I called my husband twice this morning, and then finally turned my phone off and back on and it finally went through to him! They are both verizon customers as well.
I know exactly what will happen if I call or go to the verizon store, they will first have me trouble shoot it, and when that doesn't work they will reset it back to out of the box spec's. The store will do the same, and then say oh well we can give you a replacement, a certified like new device.. Ya know, and maybe it's too early, but dang it, I do not want a replacement device. I want the one I have, the one I have finally over the course of 5 months set up to the way I love, well I want that phone to work...
Thanks for any help, I really appreciate it

Hello Kyla1234,
The Razr is one of my favorite smartphones! It's super thin, super strong, and super fast! Based on your original post, these issues started happening about a week ago. May I ask what changes were made to the device that may have triggered a change in the functionality of the device. Some of the common catalysts are:
- Software upgrade
- 3rd party app download
- Physical or liquid damage to the device.
- Low device memory
- Damaged SIM card.
If any one of the situation above has been the case then please elaborate as to what happened. Upon reading the last paragraph in your posting, you a familiar on how to troubleshoot your device. A factory reset is the BEST way to resolve the issue that you have been having if you prefer to keep your original device. If you haven't done so yet then here's a link to the steps on how to do so.
http://support.verizonwireless.com/clc/devices/knowledge_base.html?id=49625&sayt=hard
Once you have completed the factory reset, please test call voice and data service prior to adding 3rd party apps and customize settings to the device. As you add more to the phone then double check to ensure functionality. If the issue persist then please reply to this message for additional help
Thank you...

I'm seeing three problem areas:
- Errors sending text messages and in making phone calls. (These two could be related to the same problem - cellular coverage. A data plan is not needed for phone calls or SMS text messaging.)
- Data interruptions in both 3G and 4G.
- Problems with the phone discharging at night. (Are you saying your battery is fine during the day?)
As Arnett points out, it sounds like these are recent problems and the common culprits he lists could be the cause. I kinda doubt they are all caused by one thing, but it's possible. You are going to have to do some detective work in all likelihood. Especially if you don't want to do a Factory Reset.
I'm assuming you haven't made any changes like turning Data Saver on or installing a battery saving app / smart action that could be involved. If so, please turn them off for the testing part of this.
Do problems 1 & 2 happen only at home or wherever you are? It's possible there is a signal problem that has arisen in your area. These can be transient and therefore pretty madding. You haven't said what you've done but I would try toggling Airplane mode on and off to see if that helps your data reconnect. Also rebooting the phone.
The easiest way to rule out any apps you've installed, as well as other possible causes, without doing a Factory Reset is to boot in Safe Mode. See if this stops any of the 3 problems. If, for example, you find your battery problems improved, you may have something like Facebook running when you don't need it. Safe Mode won't remove any of your apps, it just loads only the essential programs. If your problems still persist in Safe Mode, I'm afraid a Factory Reset is the next logical step.
For problem #3, , if your data connection is on all night, it's possible that your battery is discharging trying to grab a 4G signal that is weak. This is especially possible since you are having trouble with your data signal strength. If you put it in Airplane mode at night, is it still discharging? Airplane mode won't tell you if the problem is an app or the phone trying to connect to a weak data signal, but it will tell you if there's something fundamentally wrong with the charging/battery.
For problems 2&3 you can also try going to Menu>Settings>Wireless & Networks>Mobile Networks>Network Mode and put it in CDMA only. This will tell the phone to use 3G only. If the 4G signal is weak in your area your phone may be trying to connect to it and not only not connecting, but preventing a proper 3G connection from forming.
Hope this is helpful and good luck.
