Great Googa Mooga!
Is VZW finally smelling the coffee?
Disclaimer: The phone should have or must have a dual core processor or quad core processor. Plus a minimum of 1gb of ram.
Well thing that I like on the phone in part is that Google has some say and it's getting the updates in a little faster fashion as apposed to when they did and it I get one Heretic it should have a few to come.. b33
Heretic on side Note: since I can't send a DM to ya did you see those Tornado's that hit in the East what devastation.. it makes me sad seeing it.
Yes. It helps a whole lot when the OEM has some say. :smileyhappy: I can only hope they'll have more say in the future.
I read an article stating that HTC was the best when it comes to pushing out updates.
Of course that article was written years ago.
P.S. I live in the northeast. So tornados are rare here. But i did see those weather reports and yes it's sad. My hopes and prayers go out to those affected in the u.s. and abroad.
Well I hope since the phone is part Moto/Google it's OS turns out to be Good..
Looks like it's here:
It’s Official: Android 4.4 Kit Kat Arrives on the Verizon Moto X First, Starting Today – Droid Life
Moto X Kit Kat Update Rolling Out Now to Verizon Devices! – Droid Life
Well that's Good to see let thy devices be loaded and OS work as smooth as Butter..
Yaay I got Kit Kat on my moto x, and I'm very happy with the addition of the camera focus functionality along with emojii support! Thank you Verizon! A job well done this time!
Hey that's Good to hear..:smileyhappy: b
It's now Dec 1st and I still have no OTA Kitkat update on my Moto X.
When will this be coming?
The updates roll out in waves. You can manually check for updates by going to your settings > about phone > software update.
As tikibar1 indicated it should be coming soon it can take a few weeks to roll out to everyone..
Thanks for the reply, but i have tried that several times a day for the past week.
Also tried the Motorola software that comes with the phone.
Also tried a full factory reset and then checking again....still no update.
Is there no other way to FORCE this update?
No ... it will arrive when it arrives.
I just got my Moto X and got the Kit Kat update prior to even using it. I am finding that I cannot get either the native mail client or Touchdown to connect to my company's email (requires ActiveSync protocol). This all works fine on my Samsung Galaxy Nexus with Android 4.2.2
Is this a known issue? If so, does anybody know if there's an emergency fix coming? This is a BIG problem.
You might try running a clearing of the cache partition see if that help to get it going, but you may have to Factory Wipe if the phone is seeing issues after clearing the partition..
No, this is a known Kit Kat issue. A version 4.4.1 and 4.4.2 has already been sent out to Nexus devices on other networks. I spoke with a Verizon rep last week who saw an update coming. It was in a review status but with no release date. She said that in her experience this means it'll likely be released between 48 hours to two weeks or so, but not months.
Except if you read the Nexus forums, they have 4.4.2 and most are still reporting issues.
(Interestingly, some people with 4.4 report no issues too).
I've not seen ANYTHING definitive that says it was supposed to correct these Activesync issues with Exchange in the first place, so pining for 4.4.2 seems pointless.
This is really horrific for people using the Moto X in a corporate environment as I am and seeing as Google/Moto didn't see fit to properly put their code through its paces.
