Motorola Edge 5G UW 256GB & xFinity call forwarding issues

I have a Motorola Edge 5G UW 256GB that is having issues with xFinity's simultaneous ring. My previous Motorola MotoZ didn't have any problems with it. The way it supposed to work is both my house phone and my cell phone will ring when a call comes into my house phone. This way I can answer whichever phone is closer & I don't have to remember to turn the call forwarding on and off. The MotoZ worked great the Edge won't work at all. If I answer the cell phone the call gets disconnected. Through 'trial and error' I found this wasn't an Android or Mac issue (xFinity tech came out & we tried his Mac which worked fine). I used my son's Samsung and it worked fine. But my Edge won't. Anyone have any suggestions?

Sandie90259 I'm sorry to learn you are having issues with your new Edge 5G. Is there a name for this function you are having issues with? I would be happy to investigate but I'm not familiar with it. Does your phone work for everything else (calls/text/data)? -Dolores

xFinity has s feature called "advanced call forwarding" which allows any incoming call to be sent to up 5 phone numbers. When I have my house phone and my Edge on the list any incoming calls will ring on both phones allowing me to answer which ever phone is closest no matter where I'm at. I have used this feature as long as xFinity has had it available on my other phones with no problems. I recently upgraded my phone to the Edge 5G from the MotoZ and since then I can't get this feature to work. xFinity sent a tech out to my home to see if they could help fix the issue. Every phone number that we programmed the call forwarding into worked fine except when I put my phone cell number in. The xFinity tech had an iPhone, it worked fine. He could answer any incoming calls so it wasn't a Mac vs Android issue. I put my son's number, which is another Android, in and it worked fine on his phone. (his is a Samsung) I put my friend's number in, which is another Verizon number on a MotoZ, and it worked fine. In all 3 cases the phone rang with any incoming call and they were able to answer the call without the call being dropped. As soon as I put my number back in any incoming call that I answered the call was dropped.

All other features on my phone, texting, streaming, data or whatever seem to be working fine including the standard call forwarding. Thank you.

When it comes to being with Xfinity, you would need to reach out to them, we are not able to access the account, to work the device. *Rhonda

I have talked to xFinity. They sent a tech person to my home to try to figure this out. Everything points to it being a Motorola Edge problem. It's the only phone that we've tried that the call forwarding doesn't work with. I know this probably isn't a Verizon problem. It's probably a Motorola firmware problem. I now know not to purchase another Motorola phone. Thanks for nothing.
