I had no trouble finding it but the new version stinks, I would stay with the old if you can. I wish I would not have upgraded to ICS

Well djmc where is it? I always kept background data turned off to save battery and now I don't know how to do it with ICS

Off of the home screen hit menu and there is a manage apps choice, is that what you are looking for

Press home then the task manager appears with all the apps that are currently open. Slide each window to the left or right, then they will disappear. Good luck.

That actually does not close those apps.  After doing that, I went and checked to see if they were still running and yep they still were.  Forced them closed.

ICS has an internal task manager and will close apps in the background as necessary to free up RAM. That's why programs may be running in the background. I've no problems in that area. Motorola recommends that this OS works best without a external task  manager. Using one actually uses more battery because it closes programs that should be running in the background and thus has to relaunch them.

Hello Scope9137,

Congrats on getting the new software update on your Droid Razr! I'm sure that the new feature will impress you and add more value to your wireless experience. As far as a task manager, there is no need for one with ICS! The new operating system is so efficient in handling the device resources that it makes using the phone super easy while on the go! If you have any questions on the device and/or the new software update then don't hesitate to reply to this message.

Thank you...

@ There IS a Task Manager, isn't that what it's called when you press & hold on the Home icon?

Good grief.

Hello Smash Ogre,

In a technical sense, yes, you are correct. The app menu that allow you to force close apps CAN serve as a task manager. However, if a person is looking for the typical app or widget that has been known to come on most Android devices, then such a feature has been removed. A 3rd party app can be downloaded to supplement the Force close option but we traditionally don't recommend it. I hope that this clarifies the difference between the two for the community.

I didn't need clarification. Thank you though.
