Motorola as the manufacturer can set their own prices. Verizon Wireless likely already paid for their inventory and that's why they haven't changed their price. What is stopping you from buying from the manufacturer?

I appreciate you bringing this to our attention. We strive to always offer our customers the best phone deal. I can certainly shed some little on this topic. deloused, is correct, Motorola is currently running a promotion for the Moto Z Force phone for $500.00. Currently, we're offering this model phone for $720.00 retail price. Are you in the market for a new phone?
