Notification Light Flashes constantly Razr (no notifications)

Okay quick summary:

I got my Droid Razr Nov 10th; had problems so Nov 11 evening I reformated device, factory reset.

As of this morning on Nov 19th I noticed my LED notification light flashing, so I turned on screen to see what I missed. Nothing. Okay so I unlocked phone and waited a minute to see if some third party application will tell me I have a notification. Nothing.

I turned display off, waited a min and it started flashing again. This time I had to go to work so I turned off device 100% and went to work; 6hrs later I turned on device and I got the LED notification light again. Still cant figure it out. After texting a friend, his 2nd text finally made it go away.

I attended a wedding ceremony as a guest and put my cell phone on Airplane mode so no distractions during wedding and thankfully no lights. 1hr later I re enabled all Data (turned off Airplane mode) and still no LED notification.

I thought I was saved.

But I was wrong. After 2hrs I'm getitng the LED notification light again. Tech thought it had something to do with battery, well at at any rate I'm getting a new device, will be here Wednesday but apparently its still blinking at me.

Heck I even have that thing plugged into the AC charging battery and its still going off. The weird thing is, is that when I turn a blank black screen to power up for me so I can use device the LED light goes away, but when I turn off the display (not powering device off) it comes back.

I swear this phone is pocessed LOL

Can anyone shed a light on the subject? Verizon tried to get me to Motorola Tech Support but guess what, during the transition of being transferred it was 5:59 then 6:00 and the phone cut me off so their website shows them being closed. i just missed the transfer to talk to someone at motorola by 1 minute. So now i have to wait til after 3pm PST tomorrow before i call Motorola back about this issue. Til then I'm hoping someone else knows something :smileyhappy:

Okay, finally!!! After 2 days I think I finally figured it out. But before
I tell you, I will say that I just posted a question on the developers website
about their Application.

Yep apparently it had something to do with the Hotmail + Seven application I
downloaded from the market, the official one for Hotmail , website is
explore.live.com

But as I said before, I checked all settings and made sure everything was
unchecked which I believe it to be off, so why was I still getting the LED
notification??

Well what I decided to do was that when I got the LED, I checked my hotmail
and it was perfectly synced that the time I got the LED was the time it gave me
a new email. It blinked again 2minutes later and 2 minutes later I saw I had
another email.

Further looking into the settings my email was configured for push times, not
check email every 15minutes or 1hr; though I did finally change it to manually
(not that worried); but again I mentioned my 2cp on the main websites forum and
asked why I kept getting the light when I believed everything to be off.

So I'm gonna mark this as the solution.

No tone, just LED Green Light, constantly flashing, no notifications at top
screen on cell phone, only comes on when I lock the screen..........solution?
My Hotmail +Seven App has the issue. Question submitted on their forums

Might be nice if you gave information on the color the led is blinking because there is so many things that can make a led blink, another thing make sure that if you are using any 3rd party email or sms apps the alert isnt from it and also make sure you did not install any apps that controls the led alert because I have seen a number of devices have issues using apps like those from time to time.

oh sorry; its a green light that flashes. only flashes when you hit the power button once to well make it black screen (screen saver)

i checked several apps made sure all notifications are off; sound or led and after each i hit power button on side to lock screen make it black and green led still flashing lol

You would by chance be charging the device when you see this light because my TB light comes on when I turn the screen off while charging? A green light usually doesnt mean a alert notification its usual used for a charge light.

go to task manager and kill all running apps, including your mail client. You can also add to auto-kill list. This should do it.

just an fyi.....but other apps cause this as well. i sue handcent for mms/sms. when i get a text the light blinks as there is a notification. however, when i close that text after reading it, the light is still flashing. i actually have to pull the notification menu down and then back up (even though by this point there is no notification up there) to get the led to stop flashing.

I had the same issue. There is no issue with the device. You have to narrow down which app is causing the notification hiccup. The device is attempting to retrieve information but it is not being delivered through the application. For me, it was my email. I had my Yahoo email set up through the default Email application. I would attempt to refresh the emails but the app was unable to retrieve. To resolve the issue. I deleted the email from that application and instead went to the Market to get an application specific to the type of email. I selected the Yahoo Mail application. Now the email is syncing perfectly and I am no longer receiving the LED light.
