I have a 10 day old Razr M that has very poor signal reception. This phone replaced a Motorola Edge that I used for about 3 years. At home the Edge always had 3-4 bars and could make and receive calls that were clear and crisp. The Razr cannot. 3 or 4g is irrelevant at home, I have Wi-Fi and computers always available. The only thing I want the Razr to do at home is make and receive calls. I am a mile and a half from the tower. I have tried power cycling, system updates, etc. PRL is the same now as when I first bought the phone and I have no idea if the sim card is working in that regard. I am close to the point of paying the termination fee and switching carriers just to make phone calls.
Anyone have any suggestions about improving signal strength beyond another $250 for an extender? Somehow seems backward to have to make an additional payment for the privilege of using Verizon's network.

If your Razr M is only 10 days old, you are STILL within the 14 day return period. You can return the phone and NOT have an ETF. You will have to pay a restocking fee, though.

I have already been through the exchange process. I started with a Maxx, they are equally poor at voice signal.
